This is has to be the worst book I've listen to this year. Beautiful Bastard is a book full of panty ripping with average sex scenes and the words "beautiful bastard" being said every other sentence. This book is not for readers who want good sex scenes with a interesting storyline.
it was an okay book and decent love senes but repetitive and not really much to the story.
If this was a film, it would be porn. Goes from one f**k to another. Promotes the idea that women really "want it" even when they say they don't.... Characters are caricature - a comic book.
I couldn't listen to more than 30 minutes. I was waiting for some depth, a story line, something other than f**king to happen. There's not even much creativity in each of the sex scenes (yes, there were at least 3 in the first 30 mins).
If you're looking for quality anything here, it's the performance. She does great work with what she's given.
less graphic and more story.
JUST THE SERIES, Which unfortunately i bought two more of before a trip.
Some inflection and less like a 1-900 telephone call
all of them
waste of $$$$$
I love Romance and Urban Fantasy
1. no millionaire / billionaire
Bennett and his family are well off and yeah they might be in the millionaire neighbor or at least their marketing company is but it never comes up. And I was grateful for it.
2. no torched hero / heroine
Neither Chloe or Bennett has a torched childhood or a f’d up romantic pass. Nothing wrong with that kind of troupe but I liked that it wasn’t present here.
3. real life angst
The angst between Chloe and Bennett was plan and simple. He was her boss and she was afraid that people in the business would see her in a negative light if their relationship got out.
All three of these reasons were very refreshing. You get all the sexy times with less drama and a real romance between real people.
Grace Grant did a great job with Chloe and a pretty good job with the male voices. She truly performed the story, not just reading it. She made me feel the emotions of the characters while I listened.
This book was decently written, edited, & narrated. The main reason it gets only 2 stars is that the entire premise of the story is a bit skeevy. If it goes on sale, which is how I got it, then it may be worth a try. It definitely kept me til the end but I had to take breaks from the story as the entire premise made it difficult for me to listen. Really, a boss in a power position with an employee having sexual relations is a bit much to take.
This is definitely how it's done. strong women, strong men, no one trying to break or fix one another. 50 Shades of Boring has nothing on this Beautiful Bastard.
More plot, less romcom cliche and a male voice actor for the male perspective
Everything. I don't usually have the time to review a book but seeing how high the book's rating is somehow I feel obligated to warn people that it is terrible and a waste of time.
No. I did not like her voice. IIt was even worse she did the male perspective not because I got to hear her twice but because it was awkward hearing a girl talk about her penis.
All of them
Unrealistic. Doesn't make sense.
