The story was fun and kept me listening for hours.
Taryn was a hilariously witty and powerful heroine!
Yes. I actually bought this one because I loved Jill Redfield in the Sylvia Day Crossfire Series. I really enjoy her ability to differentiate between characters.
Eh, I have the kindle and audio only because it was cheaper to get both then one or the other... haha so preference.
It kept me reading and thinking about it when I wasn't reading(listening_) Seriously just a great story, I didn't see any of it coming...Which is awesome usually in books like this you can see all the trials a mile away.
I love her voice, she made the audio version. So much so when I did read I only heard her voice in my head.
Sometimes, Love isn't what you thought it was
GOOD for sale or credit!
i'm a romance's lice! i crawl all over it... :D
This book is amazing. And it amazes me more that the writer is self-published. It was crazy good that i would have thought she was an established writer already.
Anyhoooo... This is a really good start to a really good series. The story wasn't that original, but the female lead totally is. I have never come across such a dry tenacious sarcastic strong independent funny yet adorable heroine such as her.
The male lead was also a really consistent character. From the get go, he had been the strong broody alpha male and never backed down from there on. Though he was sweet, but he never was that mushy gooey romantic type. He was strong and possessive and yet he was a kind understanding alpha in his pack. He was HAWT! no... Hot is his the definition of hot!!!!!
The story was captivating. Plots were believable. Relatable. Suzanne wrote this book in a fast consistent pace that i found very refreshing. Instead of getting into small unnecessary details like other writers, she got right to the point. She also did a really good job explaining the internal dialogues of both hero and the heroine. It was rather delicious to hear what they were thinking of each other. And the sex... was really interesting (AHEM AHEM).
The story came to life by my favorite narrator of the whole world, Jill Redfield. She's a chameleon. She gave voices to all the characters and made them so realistic and that much more interesting. I like how she did that throaty calming voice for the hero. It's exactly how i imagine his voice would be. Thank you!
It was an unexpected delicious treat. I finished this book almost in 1 sitting. Sadly i can't find any information about the date of the coming-soon sequel. Hopefully soon cause i'm definitely craving for more "wolfy claiming"!
Grab it! can't be wrong! :D
Tips: for those who already LISTENED/READ this book and crave for more. Go to Suzanne Wright's website you will find uncut/deleted sex scene but i must warn you it's super graphic! it's not for the light-hearted. I wasn't surprise at all that that scene didn't make the cut when published. YES! it was that graphic.... PS: DO NOT READ THE UNCUT SCENE IF YOU HAVEN'T READ/LISTEN to this book.
Say something about yourself!
Beautiful, Paranormal, Lovestory
Jill Redfield gives an amazing performance as she did in the Crossfire novels. This book was a very good paranormal lovestory but Jill made it into a great one
When Trey and Taran finally trusted each other enough to share their feelings and complete the mating bond it got to me.
I found this book very well written and performed. I had to listen straight through the whole thing. It captivated me to the point I could "see" the story like a movie.
Enthusiastic listener =)
There's no explanation to how fantastic this book is.
Although the paranormal is not my first choice, this book is a must have / must read....many times.
The story and the performance are phenomenal. The sex is enveloping. The characters are strong and distinct. Hopefully the rest of the pack is this good =)
Credit: my $10 rule overcame the use of my credit HOWEVER, I would gladly have spent the credit on this one.
The introduction to the individual characters. The author describes the prominent pack members' personalities very well without detracting from the main characters, Tray & Taryn. I loved that the author reminded us throughout the story that both Tray & Taryn were dominant in their own rite; that Tray was very much a dominant canine with Taryn and his pack but that Taryn did not loose her dominance except with Tray.
I am looking forward to more from this author - hope the next in the series is not too long in coming.
Nothing. I thought the narrator was great.
Would like more.
Love to read!
I really enjoyed this book and am anxiously awaiting the 2nd book in the series. I liked the main characters; they were both strong and had distinct personalities. The book grabs your attention from the start and keeps the momentum going for the majority of the book. There are lots of antagonists that keep the drama high, but not at the price of a good story line and plenty of character development.
My only criticism is the number of detailed intimate encounters. That seemed to be the primary vehicle of interaction between the two characters and it honestly gets a little old after a while. However, it is still a great book!
Favorite reads are urban fantasies featuring adults, with a firm twist of tasteful erotica, shaken well with plenty of humor & wit over ice.
Laughable in its pre-adolescent writing style, that is, unless you are a pre-adolescent and/or writing for that group. Especially not good when dealing with decidedly adult content. The several chapters I could tolerate, miserably failed at delivering the needed sexual tension to carry the storyline.
Narration is terrible! But to be fair, I'm not sure anyone could have made this text much better... But at this point, I would not choose to listen to this narrator again.
At first listen (the sample), the book seemed it might have an interesting story and might still be one to explore, but the dialogue and sexual interest felt flat, forced and canned. Something like the first attempts of a young teen trying to write pornography; coarse, no build-up of emotion or tension; no layers.
And to clarify, I'm so NOT a prude when it comes to my choices in reading material...I truly enjoy reading a mature, well-written sex scene as much as the next healthy adult female. Seduction is a wonderfully compelling art form and, done with some finesse, elicits tingles, smiles and deliciously genuine heat in the reader. But, the dialogue and sex scenes in the first several chapters of this book (because that's as far as I could get before ripping my headphones from my shaking head while muttering about losing time from from life that I'll never get back!) is clumsy, crass and lacks anything that would entice me to ever want to come back for more.
... ridiculous and hilarious (and not in a good way)!
Wow this book was so entertaining on so many levels. This book came as a big surprise for me. I started not so excited about this book but willing to give it a chance..it ended up well worth the credit and then some. I can't remember the last time a book had me heaving in great belly laughs, not just once but several times throughout the book. The heroine in this story has a quick, sharp and sarcastic wit that had me thoroughly charmed. This book also has a lot of hot animal sex, which is a definite bonus for me but may not be a plus for everyone else, but it's not just sex...there is also quite a bit of sweet romance. All together makes an irresistible paranormal romance package that has me on the edge of my seat waiting for book 2!! Well done Ms. Wright!! Well done!
