typical trite plot. boy meets girl, gets scared of emotions, keeps distance, girls misunderstands, they get back together have descriptive sex... I guess this is a chick book.
This is probably my favorite book series. Along with the strong storyline there's plenty of action and romance. I am normally not a fan book series that jumps from different character to different character. I get invested in characters and want to continue on their storyline. I found in this series that not only did she move on to new characters but she keeps the past ones involved. The only downside that I have found in this book series is now I'm constantly comparing everything else to this series and nothing quite stacks up. I could continue on with this book series forever and I hope she does too.
Feral Sins is the first book in the Phoenix Pack series by Suzanne Wright.
It was a good story that made you want the Phoenix Pack to win the day. I liked the story.
Taryn is my favorite because of the things she had to go through to be a member of the Phoenix Pack and the Alpha Female.
She has a sexy voice that brings the story alive.
The big betrayal at the end by a member of the Phoenix Pack was emotional.
I did enjoy listening to this story. I received this Audio book for free by AudioBook Boom in exchange for a unbiased review.
The book was okay, typical shifter stuff. The main character Teryn was very well written and I really liked her. Trey on the other hand was horribly written and OMG, the female narrator making her voice all deep to read his part, was ridiculous! Imagine a woman trying to sound like a man in an over exaggerated deep voice but also with a hint of valley girl in it, saying explicit sexual words. Every time the narrator spoke for Trey and said Teryn's name, I wanted to laugh. I actually stopped this book 3/4 way through and requested a refund.
I like a steamy novel. But this was just irritating and dumb. 5 minutes of completely ridiculous sex scenes for every 1 minute of weak storyline. I started fast forwarding thru the sex scenes just to get thru it.
This book is a perfect example of rape culture. She's strong. She doesn't want to be dominated. She doesn't want to have sex. She says no, but they have sex anyway, and 6 times a day, day after day. He often chases her and physically forces her. She says no or is reluctant, so he just proceeds and forces her if he "needs" to. She ends up liking it, and it's the best, most mind-blowing sex she's ever had.
Oh, and he has issues where he thinks he's a bad guy and she's helping him work thru it. But he or she never think anything of him physically forcing her to have sex.
So I guess he's the only one that really knows they should have sex, and that makes it ok to force her or talk her into it. Yuck.
Thanks to Audible for recommendation based on my listening. I'd never heard of this author, I read erotic romance & erotic paranormal, but usually never find it in audio. She writes very erotic, very descriptive, not for the faint of heart & not for listening in mixed company. Can't wait to finish the series & see what else she has. Should be for adults only.
I thought story line was good, imagery good and performance good.like I said the language was coarse and a better choice of words was needed I will have to listen to another one of Her books .
