Absolutely like my heading says, the characters were a treat listen to. I laughed throughout the whole book.
That's a hard question because I loved Taryn's mouth, Dominic was too funny and Grandma was a trip.
Taryn. Jill Redfied is one of my very favorite narrator's.
Yes, I wish I could have but then it would end to soon which would have made me sad.
I don't know why I didn't hear about this book earlier. It's been out over a year. just reminds me how much I love a paranormal shape shifter.
I actually enjoy the story and the series. I am somewhat offended by the sex scenes. I find them overly graphic. In book 3 we have a submissive girlfriend "wearing" a "butt plug" in order to prepare for the upcoming anal sex. Honestly I wonder if the author is a man with a female pen name who gets off on bondage. Anyhow, if I do any more of these, I will buy them in paperback so I don't have to listen (and risk having my children hear) such descriptions. In a book it is so much easier to skip to the right spot just after they finish. Apparently I am becoming a prude in my (young) age.
I am hooked! I love the characters, the narrator does an excellent job! I will be listening to the entire series! Excellent sex hot hot hot!
It was very pornographic! I like a little romp & romance but this was just over the top!
really great reader
Lots of them
I would have liked more warning about the content of this novel. My husband & I both found the book much more graphic than we expected!
Voracious reader, aspiring writer ...
this book should have been written in the first person ... the story, more than that the characters are not strong enough, and they lose a lot of conviction being written in third omniscient ...
not quite sure yet ... I would have had the book been written in first person ..
she folds to the omniscient ... her reading is flat ... there is no tone at all ... she brings nothing at all to the raw emotion that SHOULD be conveyed in a story where an abandoned daughter has been forced to joined with an insane enemy .. her performance has not heat ...
I needed more wine to evoke some sort of feeling and even that did not do the trick .. this 'story' is awful ... there is a lot of sex, with an undertone of daddy masochisim ... I mean any man with a "DADDY" complex will love this tale ... more than that any female who is extremely confused about her place in life will find it here in this story ... it is absolutely awful and it sets back feminism back to bedrock!! (You will find this reference funny if you make it past the fourth chapter) this book was written for lazy readers ..
if you want to see how this sort of story should be done ... check out jesstoyou at litorotica ... the story I think is Nicoletta
Some decent passion but not enough to finish the book. To formulaic, and with this genera that's sad
...and say that I am very surprised I was able to push myself to finish this one. The narrator was fine as narrators go, but the book itself was...wow.
I'll preface this review a bit by saying I love the paranormal romance and steampunk romance genres. Among the books I've listened to and enjoyed the hell out of are Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series, Bec MacMaster's London Steampunk novels, Meljean Brook's Iron Seas books, and Kristen Callihan's Darkest London series. These books are full of sex, just like the book that I'm reviewing, but they're also full of great characters with an awesome story arc. I found those two crucial elements to be sadly lacking in this one.
My main complaint about the book is the characters -- they all felt one dimensional to me. It's been noted by other reviewers that the secondary characters were all defined by some kind of schtick, but if you think about it, that's really true of all of the characters. We had our heroine, Taryn I-am-snarkier-than-EVERYONE Warner, whose "witty" one liners seemed to resemble a lot of tee shirts and bumper stickers I've seen. We had our hero, Trey I-don't-know-how-to-love Coleman. We had our hero's crotchety and reproachful granny, the comic relief whose personality consisted entirely of nasty pick up lines, the I-know-what-you're-going-to-do-before-you-do beta and the list goes on. I was thoroughly tired of all of these people by the end of the book.
It doesn't make me happy in any way to tear a book down and if you enjoy this kind of shallow fluff with werewolves and a ton of sex thrown in, there isn't anything wrong with that. For me, be the characters werewolves, vampires, demons, or Easter bunnies, I want them to feel like real people and not just cardboard cut outs. This one just didn't do it for me at all.
Yes....A Million Times Yes. The book grabs you from the start and doesn't let go.....it is great.......
Taryn steals this book for me....her sass, spunk, and take no prisoners attitude make you cheer all the way through for her...
Personality....she gives each and every character a 3 dimensional personality and it's great. She makes the book....her narration is so wonderful that I have now gone back and purchased all books that she narrates on...
"Feral meets a Force of Nature"
If you love paranormal books then this book and the other 2 books in the series that have been completed should be in your collection.
I really liked Tara, she was a spit fire. Enjoyed all her quick remarks
Lover of all books, especially Romance!
For me personally the narration was fabulous, but the story line was lacking, no real depth or plot, just there like a good start but didn't make the finish line. Speaking of finish line this couple was in heat seriously, there was lots of "Alpha" sex which is good but without some sort of plot just OK. It may be that wolf shifters isn't my thing as I usually stick more to blood suckers, and the mating/sex thing is just part of the wolf shifter thing. Dunno? Hope this review helps.
