The ending was a little too "precious" for my taste, although it was the only one most readers would accept. The book kept me alternately pissed off at the hero and sympathizing with him. Some good twists and turns.
Reader drove me crazy and this was so predictable!!
I can't believe this is the same author that I normally love
I was afraid this book would turn me off since it sounded like another Afghanistan intrigue story. It is so much more. Turns and twists everywhere and I didn't even guess who the villain was until it was actual right in front of my auditory senses. Evidently, I loved it. Narration was excellent, also. No twangy, raspy or guttural intonations. Just a warm soft voice telling a hard story.
Don't waste your time. I'm usually a fan. Not up to the usual Scottoline skill. Characters weak and poorly defined, boring and predictable. And any lawyer will tell you, the legal portion is unrealistic and legal procedures contrary to law is most jurisdictions. Very disappointing.
I enjoyed this book & the surprises. I tried to help Mike make a few decisions, but he wouldn't listen, ha.
good ending, easy to read into story about his love for Stephenie.
Another excellent book that kept me riveted; I continuously tried to guess "who did it". I really like this writer and the narrator. GREAT listen!!!
SURE, IT MAY APPEAL TO SOME
NEW TITLE ALTOGETHER...NEVER REALLY THOUGHT THAT FIT THE STORY
My wife (Ruthie) and I together listen to Audible's books every evening. We have been doing this since 2005 and have never missed an evening
Absolutely the finest of Scottoline !
Warms my heart and hElps me appreciate my wife and children even more. The ending was superb.
I thought the book started very strong. It does get a little long in the middle with one too many characters and plot twists introduced. The ending was not shocking but was decent. It was a solid audiobook. I did prefer "Keep Quiet", and I will definitely keep exploring Scottoline offerings.
