Jodi has the stories you dont forget. Amazing writer. Every time I read another Picoult, I find another favorite! How do you do it Jodi???
It was fairly easy to take a break..but I really looked forwards to my "book time". A really good book.
This book/story was skillfully crafted, really well done.
I enjoyed the interweaving of the stories and putting together the pieces during the telling prior to them being revealed more directly.
I really liked the different narrators, and will seek other books with multiple narrators now.
I cried helplessly at times and felt quite strongly several times. Part 2 of the book was so engrossing, I found it difficult to even multitask and just sat actively listening to much of that part.
I loved this book so much, I'm still feeling tempted to listen to it a second time right now immediately after finishing it, regardless of having 11 new audio books to select from.
This is by far one of the best audiobooks I have ever listened to.
When it all comes together... past, present, and future, it was touching, heartbreaking, and hopeful.
The different voices for the characters and the different views really made the book come alive!
I definitely could have listened to this book in one sitting but used it as a treat for my mind while I went walking.
I LOVE to read!! I prefer mysteries but I dabble in every genre!!
This is the true definition of an audiobook! I am so glad I decided to use a credit for this! The narrators really captured the essence of the characters and kept me listening.
The heart of this story is definitively Minka's grim tale of life in the Jewish ghetto and concentration camps. I liked the contrast in her personal story and Josef's personal story of that same time period.
The narrators brought the story to life. I think they made it more realistic. I felt as if I was in the story myself.
"Forgive or forget?"
I'm not really good at tag lines!
I've only read a few other Jodi Picoult books, but she holds true to form in this novel and she doesn't disappoint. I admire books that dive into history and the extensive research it must have taken to complete.
I like how Jodi Picoult takes current issues and produces an emotional fictional account. The Storyteller is all that but a little bit more. The different perspectives she includes are so thought provoking that I continue to consider them even after finishing the book. Although I have read Picoult's more recent books, they had lost some of their edge for me. They had become somewhat predictable and familiar. The Storyteller is my new Jodi Picoult favorite. I highly recommend this book and already have to my friends and family.
The readers were fantastic and the story was gripping
The grandmother, because of her strength and wisdom.
When the Germans came in and knocked the chicken dinner off the table. I don't know why but that scene stayed with me throughout the book.
There was some foreshadowing regarding the ending..... but I still feel as though too many ends were left in the air. I would have liked a few more details
weaving our history
No, this was the first. Pure pleasure to ride along on this riveting journey
Make you realize our emotions tied to events are not separated by more than a degree or a small bakery.
This was one of the best books I've read and my first Jodi Picoult. I haven't read her work as I have heard they are sad. While a story involving the Holocost is not a happy one, this story is one of courage, life and luck. It was very well worth reading and not a true tear jerker.
Excellent book!! Jodi Picoult is an AMAZING author. All of her books including Storyteller are awesome!! From the first page to the last there was never a dull moment. I didn't want the book to end.
The detailed information describing the concentration camps. So sad, you could feel Menka's pain.
Yes. Although it's my reason to exercise. If I don't exercise then I don't get to listen to a book. Kept me motivated everyday to burn some calories while listening to a great book!!
Yes because I have enjoyed previous books, particularly ones dealing with relevant topics.
It seemed too uncoordinated
The narrators made the characters seem real
