Excellent story line. Not too heavy on sexuality and just the right mix of a good storyline mingled in
No. I was annoyed with myself for listening to it. The 2nd half was slightly better than the 1st half. If not for the sex scenes, it would have been better suited as a young adult novel.
Remove the weird "OK's."
Ugghhh. She was boring. She could not make Jos likeable. The Scottish accents were better than the American accents.
No. There was nothing left in the first story for a follow-up in a second book, thank God.
The author tried to incorporate angst, but was juvenile; I could not relate to the main character, Jos, she had "issues" she was supposed to "broken." The author fell short on fleshing out Jos' solitude and strength. Instead of being strong and silent, she was aimlessly working in bars and occasionally writing, and mostly talking with her therapist.
Yes it was a great book about life
Mother of 3, grandmother of 6, retired nurse and substance abuse counselor. Thrilled to have the time to read or listen to books again.
i really liked this book, the story was good, loved the characters and the narrator was awesome!
One Great Listen!
The emotion Paula put into the entire read of the book.
All of them! My first Listen of Paula and I thought she freaking nailed it. The accent was just spot on and the emphasis she put into each character was just awesome. I will definitely listen to this one a 2nd time. I can't wait to hear her tackle more audio, and hope she does the next book in the series.
The entire book took me through many emotions of someone trying to overcome personal tragedy.
Self-growth meets Romance..?
Braden because he's the most likable
Not sure, there were a few.
When the main character found out that Braden's sister had cancer.
Great naration , wonderful accents!
It makes you feel! Some of the characters are emmotionaly screwed up, without all the bondaged sex. Loved the scottish accents it adds so much to the life of the story. Great characters. Hope the next one is as close to this great!
I'm a Navy vet, full-time student, swim teacher, dog lover, and wife. And I love books!
This book is great. It's a romance, yes, but it is contemporary, and true to the hardships of life and the irrational coping mechanisms we humans sometimes use.
Joss' journey into dealing with the loss of her family as a teen is triggered when she meets hot businessman Braden, who challenges her to remember, feel, and face reality. She's screwed up, but caring at heart, and the emotional roller coaster sucks you in from beginning to end. Paula Costello does a great job with the accents, and I couldn't stop listening! HIGHLY recommended!
I picked this book based on a listener's review. I was hooked within minutes. I loved the main character, Jocelyn; somehow she really pulled me in. All of the loss she had experienced in her young life, how could you not want her to find love. And her strong, funny exterior was very entertaining. This is one of the few romance books that also had me laughing. Braden was beautiful and seductive; I loved his determination to break through Jocelyn's tough exterior. I could hardly put this one down. Definitely worth the credit!
No spoilers from me. I enjoy HOT, sexy books. No vampires, paranormal, 4 me.I'm running out this typeAudible-so on2 lighter romance/mystery.
Sure-to the right friend, it is a great story however very graphic sexual scenes.
I really liked this book, although the 'woe is me' can get tedious the author does a great job keeping the storyline moving. It was fantastic and the narration was superb!
