Hooked on Audible
I liked this story. Although a bit more fanciful than the others, it did sum up the series pretty well. She did play in a couple of the recurring characters. I liked it but not as much as the others in this series. However rooted in fantasy, the tale is still classic Lisa Kleypas when it comes down to the love story. Not a heart wrenching tale, but entertaining at most. Overall, not the best from Lisa Kleypas, but a solid performance.
Mother of 3, grandmother of 6, retired nurse and substance abuse counselor. Thrilled to have the time to read or listen to books again.
call me "old fashioned" or a "stick on the mud" but i much prefer lisa kleypas's books about turn of the century lords and earls and dukes and london society much more than her writings about modern women and the subject matter that is especially in this book.
the narrator did a good job though.
all of it
I wanted her signature back! I noticed a little banter that was her and the last chapter. Beyond that there was no connection for me at all.
She quoted on of my favorite Connie Brockway scenes. "You are my Egypt" is a truly fabulous, romantic scene.
I didn't love the bondage thing but I get she wants her audience happy. I just wish the characters were more... real. The whole situation seemed forced to me and the control issue was simply demeaning.
