I could not even finish it....so bad.
Not anything by this author.
anyone else, he was almost awkward to listen to.
I have other books by Maya Banks but this is my first time with Adam Paul. He is not a bad narrator but he seems miscast for this type of series.
Story was ok. Nothing super original or that hasn't already been done in this genre already. Lots of similarities to FSoG and overall it is better written than the Crossfire series.
His voice is too mature for a 38 year old man. If the main character was an older gentlemen then he would have been a good fit here.
I am going to give the second book a go even if it does sound like David Rossi from Criminal Minds is talking dirty to me!
This is listed under my husbands name but he never listens to audible books. I'm the one that does and my name is Vicki.
I read book 3 before I read this book(book 1). If I had read this book first, I would not have read any of the rest of this trilogy. In this story, the male love interest, Gabe, does everything we are warned about watching out for in someone we, or our friends, daughters, or any women are warned to watch out for. I had a really icky feeling in my stomach thru most of this book. I don't care how much a woman thinks she loves a man. No one should ever think its ok for a man to treat her like Gabe treated Mia thru 80 % of this book. I would personally, never have been able to look at myself in the mirror if I had allowed someone to treat me this way. And what is it with rectal sex? Would a straight man think it arousing to have to walk around with a plug stuck up their butt while they were at work? I just don't get it! All I can think about during those segments of the story is how un-hygienic this is and all the medical issues that can happen. Most of the treatment of Mia by Gabe would make alarm bells go off in the minds of most women. I found it unbelievable that any woman would sign a contract such as the one that Gabe supposedly insisted all his women sign! Maya Banks books usually portray strong women but boy this one really missed the mark.
I've listened to several Maya Banks stories and typically love them. This book however was a complete disappointment. It seemed that the story was actually secondary to the sex. The way the female character was portrayed was degrading and pathetic. On top of all of that it was completely predictable.
So far this series is a poorly rewrite of Fifty Shades of Grey, down to the contract, spanking, rich guy and his dominating tendencies. Narration was good, but story is written better in the original book Fifty Shades...
I thought this was hot. Mia got just what she wanted. The narrator was ok. Im just glad they choose a male to read the book.
The book itself is great! The narrator however sounds like he's narrating a cookbook or TV guide. NOTHING sexy about his voice & makes it impossible to connect to the characters! Phil Gigante would have been perfect!!!
Nope! Well maybe if I purchase an encyclopedia.
Live Laugh Love
The characters were enjoyable, story was easy to follow, with plenty of action, suspense and sex. I was glad to see Gabe transition from a JERK to hopefully loving husband.
I like to listen to Adam do the women characters voices.
Tell us about yourself!I have been reading constantly threw audio books sense a verry small age and have never lost the love of them.
this is okay but there a million like it out there. it has a lot of sex that sounds like every other sex seen. there is a bad porno like plot that you do not really need to follow to know what is going on. if you just want sex with not much brain power needed than read it. narration is average.
