I was really floored by some of the reviews, after listening to this book. I have a couple of reviewers that I seek out, when considering a book, because their tastes are so much like mine that I am guaranteed an accurate picture; except in this case. There were so many negative comments made about the Hero in this book. Comments about the way he spoke to the Heroine and how stupid she was to respond to his commands.
I am really stunned how many people misread his actions and the underlying emotions that influenced said actions. It was almost like they read a different book. Did Cabe make mistakes in the way he handled their relationship? Hell Yeah! Was he extremely dominant in their sexual play? Hell yeah! But it came across as roll playing to me and every misdeed he made consumed him with guilt. So I say, he is not the monster that many reviewers made him out to be. He had been influence by past betrayals and came through, in the end. I enjoyed the book and am going on to # 2 right now!

I am married with a teenage son and run my own business. As I am visually impaired, audio books are my life.
I managed to get a quarter of the way through before I relented and gave up. There wasn't even a good romantic lead up to the affair, very sterile indeed. I don't know if it was trying to be a fifty shades of grey or not, but it was more robotic than fluent. Even the sex scenes were part of a job description. I didn't finish it so can't comment on the rest of the story
Not under any circumstances
Get rid of the disgusting depraved slave sex descriptions and male character that was truly not likeable.
No change of narrator would make this book any better
No, not that I could find. The more I listened, the worse it got.
Don't waste your credit
I'm always looking for a good erotic romance but this was not it. There was NO romance. It made my skin crawl to listen to him telling her when to wear undies and when she forgot, he beat her. He claimed that he cared about her but treated her like a piece of crap. A little dom/sub activity is great when it is for the enjoyment but he controlled every aspect of her life. What was worse, was that she allowed him to treat her that way. I believe that she was a college grad, she was beautiful. it was just sickening that her self esteem could be that bad. At least when Christian beat Ana to punish her, she walked away. Sorry, but it was just awful for me to listen to. Not wasting my money on the next 2 books in this series.
the author could have gotten her own idea of a story, this was too much like 50 Shades of Grey
That is was exactly like 50 Shades of Grey but different people and different situation
Not make it so alike
I want my money back for this.
Needs a better story line, as well as it was incredibly awkward hearing someone else read the strange erotic lines.
Not include the near rape scene and have less awkward vocabulary during erotic scenes.
