I'm a 25 year old mum to my beautiful nearly 2 yr old daughter and i LOVE books , both reading and listening to them :D
yes i would because i liked the story line and kept me wanting to listen to see what happen next
mia , i really liked how she was written she seemed like a real person and how a woman would act if it were a true story , she was relatable i think
ok , ok , ok lol didn't mind his performance
the moment where gab didn't stick up for mia when case and ash walk in and let mia walk away , i like how mia handled herself in that moment
Like the romance, but love the action involved to get there!
This book is detailed, graphic, and yes articulate about sex in general….but it also has a nice plot! There is a difference between graphic details for the sake of graphic details and graphic details that further a story…and if you don’t like graphic sex in books then don’t get this one. If you do like your books on the naughty graphic side of life this is for you! I have written the word graphic SIX times now…and inevitably there will be the idiot that gets the book and gives it a low rating because it was….yup, you guessed it….graphic…you have been warned!
The narration was great, the feminine lead was strong, yet submissive, and it reminded me of the Sweet Series in how you could really get into the mindset of the characters. Can’t wait for book two, thanks for another great one Maya!
Hot romance/Sci Fi we're so lucky to have Audible to feed our book addictions. I love walking my precious dog Sydney & listening to my books
Before purchasing a book i like to read the reviews of others. I found quite a few that are to busy comparing this book to 50 Shades and I think that it is narrow minded of some. After listing to this wonderful book i can't wait to listen to the next. Maya Banks has done a great job with the story and i also enjoyed Adam Paul's narration. With so many of these sexy sort of books out there these day's it is a listening feast for me. I love all the authors as individuals. It is plain to see by the description one reads before buying a book what sort of story it is going to be. If you can't handle the Heat - Stay away from the fire...
Maybe the narrator. This is my first time reading a Banks book, so if they're like this one, then no.
Made it seem believable? Dunno if she could, though. Gripes: A male character describing a female character's shoes and clothing in great detail doesn't scream "manly" to me. The dialogue was cheesy. Take away the sexual kink of the character, and there is nothing here that I haven't read in countless other romance titles. The book seemed a knockoff of fifty shades of grey-- which, yuck. Why won't it go away?!--down to the questionable "reasoning" (abusiveness) of the male lead and the idiocy of the female. Which is so, soooooo empowering...
All in all, not a good choice for me. I wish I'd seen that it was being touted as a fifty-like book in the iPhone compatible site because I'd have run the other way from this book and not wasted my money. Wish Audible would start doing that!
For those who think it's a fifty thing for me, it's not. It's just the book is unoriginal and can't even be saved from comparison with stellar writing.
Oh well, at least I can exchange it for something else, right :)
Eh, don't think he added or detracted, really. He can only read what's there. Can't spitshine a pile, ya know?
Save your credit.
No, it was good but once was enough. I want to listen to the others in the series.
Eva - A woman who had been babied all of her life who found her voice and strength.
His range with the different characters.
Cry a little at the end.
It would be interesting to know which came first - this or 50 Shades. VERY similar on a lot of levels. But still an enjoyable listen. Just be careful listening at work *wink.
I normally like Maya Banks books, but I was sadly disappointed in this one and have no plans to finish the series.
Not overly impressed with Adam Paul's narration. Maybe a female narrator would have been better. But I doubt it.
I have read other books by Maya Banks and enjoyed them. But not this one. It's disgusting!
Cut out the outrageous sex scenes.
This book has me wishing I hadn't wasted my money.
My favorite things are my family and my books! Depending on the day, not in that order. :)
WOW!!!!! I loved this book! The characters were strong and fierce! The story was great and kept moving at a good pace. Kept me interested in the book from start to finish. The narrator (Adam Paul) was wonderful!!!! He brought the characters to life.
Gabe's character is smart, good looking, powerful and rich. He doesn't apologize for who or what he is. Mia is his best friend Jace's little sister. He helped Jace raise her after the death of her parents when she was young. Mia has wanted him for a long time and he's wanted her too, but the 14 year age difference was standing in Gabe's way. Until now!
Hot, Hot, Hot! I can't wait to read the rest of the series!
Everything, the plot is unrealistic, any vague facts are difficult to digest and the whole story line leaves you feeling as though you are listening to elevator music.
In all honesty I don't know
Not really, it could be due to the content he was forced to read, but I didn't like his voice much either
I couldn't get through the whole book, but I simply would not have published it in the first place
It really was very disappointing, there was no simmering tension, just straight into graphic sex scenes with bondage etc etc. maybe there are people out there who thrive on this sort of thing but not me. I think the blurb should also have a warning on the content, I genuinely believe that it is not suitable for younger teenage girls. I would not want my 13 year old niece reading it, the blurb does not give an inkling about the nature of the writing. It sends a very poor message to women, who on earth, in this day an age, would accept a contract such as the 'hero' proposes in this novel. Sorry, maybe it improves, but in didn't even make it to halfway before I turned it off in disgust.
Couldn't even make it through the first hour. The narrator was horrible and the storyline is like a cheap rip off of 50 Shades of Grey. Like really?!?!?!
