As with Cinder, I really enjoyed the story. Any futuristic fairy tale definitely captures my attention, and the author executed it so well. The performance was fabulous as well, with the narrator continuing with her distinct voices and accents. I have already bought the next audio book in the series. :-)
Say something about yourself!
She is amazing, but I kind of wish she was only Cinder's voice, instead of changing for each new character.
There are literally thousands of reviews for this series, and there is not much I could say about it that you haven't already heard. Overall, I love this series so far. My only qualms are…maybe sometimes it's a little too wordy or it has too much detail to it, I mean, it's soooooo long. I also think it could really use separate narration for the different female MC's. Two people with completely different voices…I was constantly forgetting whose head I was in.
Good Series. As a veteran of epic fantasy novels and series, I find this a pleasant romp. The narrator is exceptionally good. very enjoyable.
The story was good. Scarlet could get a little annoying, but it was the voice acting that sent me running to my nearest library to borrow and read the book for myself. Her accents are inconsistent and her pronunciation can be cringeworthy. Hopefully the next book is better
This 2nd book in the Lunar Chronicles jumped right back in where Cinder left off. I'm really enjoying the series so far. It's very entertaining and keeps me company up here in the Great Northwest. I live in a small community that's far from major cities. I am frequently stuck in my car driving towards civilization and back again just for groceries or the doctor. That's two and a half hours driving time in one direction and then two and a half hours back again to my home. I do that five hour trip several times every month. Audible, in my opinion, is the best companion on those long drives. The Lunar Chronicles kept me engaged in the story,, made my boring drive enjoyable, and kept me wide awake just to hear what happened next to each character and where the storyline was taking me! It was a throughly good read...er, listen!! I've got all the books in the series all lined up ready to play. This is a very enjoyable series in every way possible.
I throughly enjoy Rebecca Solar's performance. In this book, our new heroine is French, and Ms. Solar's gentle accent bring life to Scarlet. Ms. Solar's accent are never so think that you are unable to decifer what she's saying, but bring just enough flavor to distinguish between characters and breathe into them an identity.
