I read all series books, when I find a character I love I can't stand not to know what happens to them next.
Great Read, Great Series, Futuristic but Realistic, I can't wait for the next book in the series.
Very good. I love the Death series and the characters never bore me
Rouke is my favorite character. I just love how he handles Dallas in his own way, give her enough space and then reels her back in for her "talking to" when she needs one.
Susan Ericksen is a wonderful narrator for the "death series". I love the voices she uses and honestly can not imagine anyone else narrating them
Peabody always makes me laugh!
I'm not a big fan of the futuristic setting, I found it distracting.
It's an average crime novel, nothing special.
I would change the narrator - at first the Irish accent she used sounded Indian. The voice for Peabody made her sound incredibly stupid, which she couldn't be given her position.
Its a keeper for sure
All JD Robb books in the series are excellent
Yes, she is a good reader, uses intonations that fit personality of characters
I hold on start to finish, great ride every time!!
I have read every single book in this series and have really enjoyed them all. By this point, a lot of these characters feel as familiar as family members.
ANYBODY else. She made Delia Peabody sound like a really dumb hick which really ruined my enjoyment of the whole thing. Peabody is my favorite character!
Let me start by saying I love the "in Death" series and have read them all. However, I read all of the previous ones except this one in print. This is the first one I listened to in audio format, and I have to go against the crowd here and say I did not like the narrator, Susan Ericksen. Maybe it's partly because I had read the rest of the books and had a fixed idea of what the characters should sound like in my head, I don't know. I particularly didn't like Rourke's voice.
I will definitely read every book that comes out in this series, but I'm not sure I'd listen to them in audio format.
An avid reader and listener with eclectic tastes... One unifying them is my love of humor, mystery and great narration.
JD Robb's (Aka Nora Roberts) In Death Series makes the future that she presents seem attainable and the realism of the characters (along with the depth) increases with each novel. Susan Ericksen is one of the best narrators I've ever heard. She IS Eve Dallas.
I have only stopped 2 books in mid read (listen). This was one.
I write reviews because I find them very helpful when I shopping for new ones... I hope this one is helpful.
interesting but the narrator really bungles this up. The fake accents and the flexion of the narrrators voice are not consistent with the characters. An irish accent here ends up being an irish accent by mistake on someone else. And the voice of Peabody is so stupid and false sounding. Plus, I have never heard more abbreviations used in this book. The author says vid for viedo, vic for victim, pov for point of view, the L T for letunient (sp), And plenty more. No one talks that way. It took me awhile to understand vid for video. and then hearing "Let's get the L T here to look at this Vid of the Vic......come on, really. I would not recommend this book.
