The scene where Judith meets Frances-Katherine. The story captures your heart and makes you want to listen.
She is always at the top of her game.
When Ian and Judith first kiss. Their attraction for each other is sizzling and it comes through loud and clear..
This is such a good book. The chemistry between Judith and Ian, the long time friendship between Judith and Frances-Katherine keeps you glued to the book to it's finish. Then after you're done, you want more. This book will not disappoint and can't wait to start the next installment.
I love Julie Garwood. The books she writes are wonderfully detailed and the characters are fantastic, funny and with depth.
love ms Garwood stories. the narrator was difficult to listen too. she tried to do male voices but it wasn't working for me
I am currently on my second listen in a row to this book, because it was actually that good!!! Not only is the narrator amazing but Julie Garwood is a good writer, she is witty, inserts humor and action in just the right places and always shows at least one great bond in her books. My only -1 would be that the love scenes happen near the 3/4 mark of the book but I can't complain too much.
Susan Duerden is a great narrator, she has actually spoiled me to the other Julie Garwood books that she doesn't narrate. I have to take a break and maybe wean myself off of her first before I get to the other Garwood books that look interesting.
I liked the overall story. I really disliked the narrator. Her accents were all over the place and the male characters' voices were like a terrible hissing. Other than that, it was a great book.
The main male character sounded like a cross between Dracula and Batman. She did a fine English accent but a TERRIBLE Scottish one.
Aside from the narration another great story from Julie Garwood.
I realize this book was probably written at the beginning of the author's career and is a perfect cheesy romance novel. The narrator ruined it for me however. Her infliction was so strange to me and her males head more breathless, throaty voices than I imagine they would. She did an excellent job, don't get me wrong! I suppose I just don't hear or see things the way she does. I won't be listening to her again.
