A narrator who could do a decent Scottish accent?
I can't even listen to this. Was hoping for a hot Scottish listen but the narrator sounds like she's channeling Popeye the Sailor Man.
If she's not attempting a Scottish accent . . .
Thank goodness Audible allows returns.
Read this book years ago and thought it might be good as an audible but narrator ruined it for me
Yes, I like her books. Listened to Saving Grace before this and it was excellent. Won't try this narrator again though.
The women all sounded like little girls and the men all sounded like raspy old men. Awful. Hard to get through it.
I couldn't get past the narrator to finish listening. The Scottish accents were horrible! The men sounded like Scottish pirates!
This book is in my "hands off" pile . I've read and reread this book. Julie Garwood is a wonderful author . She has made me laugh out loud. And I've also have shed some tears. I've always wanted to know how someone would narrate with the Scottish brogue. Ms Duerden has the brogue down . It's the way she portrays the women and the rest of the book. I didn't care for the narrator.
Loved the story but felt the narrator was not able to portray the depth and strenght of Judith's character. The voice of Ian was portrayed as a whisper and lacked the strenght of being a Scottish Laird. But the story was beautifully written with strong characters.
At home mother of three girls. I love reading and romance is my favorite category. A little paranormal also thrown in is nice ok too.
This one of my favorite books of Julie Garwood's. When I need cheering up this is the story I go to. I just love it and the narration is great. I have listened to this many times and always makes me feel happy.
The scene where Judith meets Frances-Katherine. The story captures your heart and makes you want to listen.
She is always at the top of her game.
When Ian and Judith first kiss. Their attraction for each other is sizzling and it comes through loud and clear..
This is such a good book. The chemistry between Judith and Ian, the long time friendship between Judith and Frances-Katherine keeps you glued to the book to it's finish. Then after you're done, you want more. This book will not disappoint and can't wait to start the next installment.
