I've been a fan odf Lisa Gardner for years. I've enjoyed reading her books but this time I. decided to try the Audible version. I was hesitant because I've been disappointed by narrators in the past. but douns this one to be enjoyable and easy to listen to. So much that I'll try it again. loves the twists and turns in the story. Can't. wait to start another of her books.
A good audio book is determined by me in two ways 1) do I play it outside of my car and 2) how much do I "talk" back to the characters- working out the story right along with them. This audio book hit the mark both times I spent my commute time and sewing time listening to this story. I loved the ending even if I might have guessed it before it was disclosed. Highly recommended.
The story line was fine but the repetitive rantings of the wife - droning on about her marriage or her parents' failings or her daughter or even oranges - drove me crazy. She also frequently stated "I understood/knew then...." But she didn't because 10 mins later she realized the opposite and she "...understood/knew then..." And it would only repeat itself again and again later. Let's face it, she didn't understand or know any things. She was pitiful and unlikable.
While I enjoyed the story of love, honor and trust gone bad that this book tackles it was a bit long winded at times and somewhat predictable in the end. I do admire how Lisa Gardner delves into the human mind to tackle the truths and untruths we all can tell ourselves at times. We are all broken in some way, that's what's makes us human I guess.
And the narrator does a great job with personalities and accents!
Very entertaining as well as suspenseful. However, I did figure out it was husband. Why take a dead body. Kidnappers knew too much which indicated an inside job. Especially when she changed the code of security system. Still, it was very good plot
intriguing plot & characters. Narrator 's voice often hard to distinguish between Libby & Tessa. would order more Gardner books but prefer a different narrator.
I have always enjoyed Lisa Gardner as an author, she didn't let me down here. Nice character development, plot line and suspense. Interesting twists.
