Made me think.
All characters were unique. N
Great pace, but being a native New Englander, the accent drove me crazy. Not an authentic Boston accent....admittedly a hard accent to replicate but it would be better not to try!
There is a point of forgiveness. In spite of everythg past, the present situation is much more real and demanding of compassion.
This is my first Lisa Gardner novel and it won't be my last. Being from Boston, I loved all of the local references and the story (although I figured out the "who done it" rather early), it kept me second guessing myself to the end. I liked that!
The narrator was great when speaking in the "Libby or Ashlynn" role. Her male voices not so great (I can imagine that is difficult to pull off). Her Boston accent is terrible especially in the Tessa Leone role. Being from Boston, I am a harsh critic of fake accents!
If you want a suspense fiction that will keep you captivated to the end, Touch and Go is for you!
This book kept me guessing and wondering throughout. The narrator was especially good, in that she didn't interfere in any way that took away from the story. I listened for over 14 hours, and it kept me wanting more all the way. Even though the premise was a stretch of the imagination, it was an exciting story. Only the ending was a bit more far-fetched. But I guess it was in keeping with the story itself. Overall, I would definitely recommend this to all lovers of mystery and suspense.
Kept me interested.
The wife. She finally found herself after she gave up on her life.
A good story. Nice to know what happened to Tessa.
It was good enough to keep me engaged on a long trip, which is all I ask from my audio books. The story moved quickly and the plot wasn't so complicated I would get confused if I zoned out while listening (which tends to happen when I'm driving).
The narration was fine, other than occasionally the male voices seemed a little weird. Too macho sounding.
If I would have had more credits to get something different, I wouldn't have finished this book. It just felt very drawn out and overly wordy. Slow moving. I just really didn't care for it. I'm not sure if it was the book in its entirety that I didn't like or if it was the characters. I thought two of the main characters were really annoying and I found myself not really caring what happened to them as the book progressed.
Yes. She did a good job.
Overall, I thought it was just ok.
The plot and the variety of characters
The same character's feelings were repeated over and over, to the point of distraction. I am not sure how many times I needed t hear about the main character's initial feelings about her husband, background, or feelings about her child.
I found the premise gripping and compelling. I got a bit confused with some of the characters in regards to the husband's business... but probably my own fault, trying to listen while doing other things. I enjoyed the presence of the character from her earlier book "Love You More" - she had intrigued me and I hope she shows up in future books. Recommend it!
Probably in a year or so. I'm not much for re-listening until I forget most of the details.
Yes. The story moved along at a quick pace, and the switching between story characters kept me alert during the reading.
Very well read
No. I listen on the commute on a train
First... I don't like this new format for writing a review. That's for Audible.
My wife suggested that I listen to a Lisa Gardner book several years ago. Since then, I have been a very hard core fan. I listen to everything that she releases.
I've listened to most of her books that are available up here and I have to say that I think that this is one of her best ever! 5,5,5,5,5!!
About 85% through this book, I said to myself.....OK I know what's going to happen.
I listen while I commute on a train to Philadelphia during the week and in my car on the weekends.
Tonight on the train, I got to the end of the book and said...Aha. I know what's going to happen. OK...Yea...a bit disappointing cause I figured it out.
I pull into my driveway after getting off the train, and I'm listening to what I think is the epilog and all of a sudden....WHAM!!!!!! WHAT???? OH COOL!!!
Lisa.. I hope you see this. I love you!!!! You are a genius. How do you come up with these great story lines???? Great finish!!!!!
What a great book!!!!
My wife is 3rd in line to get the book at our local library and she's dying to get her hands on it after my babbling...
