Here's the basic formula. Start with the perfect -- or as it turns out not so perfect family -- gradually expose there flaws and add a kidnapping with a keep you guessing plot and entertain the masses. It's all about fine lines -- is anyone completely evil? Is anyone completely innocent? This one kept me guessing for a long time. I found it thoroughly entertaining.
Yes. Good message while peeling back all the emotional layers.
When the daughter went off on her parents and put all their demons on display. Had me rooting on the daughter for her bravery and strength and "keeping it real".
The message was clear: it's not always greener on the other side. Nobody won in the book. The end seemed like it was not thought out all the way. Could have done more with the twist. Unanswered gaps as well. Overall, I enjoyed.
Good book. The plot was not predictable
It kept my attention til the end
reading style was understandable
feeling for the girl and her feelings
I didn't like the voices of some of the characters
Enjoyed the writing style and winding mystery. Didn't like the readers attempt at a Boston accent.
My first by this author and not my last . Excellent suspense and not easy to figure out the "bad guy". Highly recommended.
i am an avid reader have been since i was young.Since discovering Audible i consider myself an avid listener now. I tend to skim read and well you can't skim listen so i get much more from a book
I haven't read the print version but i love audio readings as much or more than the print version
Any of her books she is one of a kind in these type of books
I really thought i was not going to like this book but it was so well written and performed that it pulled me in till i had trouble turning it off. Stayed up later several times because i had to see what happened next. Love the way she writes.
Definitely. She is one of my favorite authors. This is the first novel of hers that disappointed me.
Yes. There were several twists I did not expect.
She managed a New England accent without overpowering the story with it.
I really wanted to know what happened next, even after the book ended.
