Wow, this book took a long time to really catch my interest. Tru has to be the most indecisive female lead ever! She must have whiplash from how often and how quickly she changes her mind. Jake is your typical bad boy rocker with a bad childhood. As expected, he self medicates with drugs, alcohol and women. The one redeeming value is that they were childhood best friends and it's interesting seeing how that affects their relationship.
God, I so disliked Trudi. I just can't find one redeeming value in her character. She will tell a lie when the truth will do just as good, she is weak and a coward. So, she runs into her long lost childhood friend Jake, who is now a famous rock star. There is instant lust/obsession, remembered love, blah, etc...Trudi has boyfriend of 2 years who she cheats on, but she's too lame to be honest with him, drama ensues.... oh hell, just read it if you like this kind of bull$hit triangle drama. Good thing she's beautiful, 'cause we know that's the most important thing about her anyway, otherwise, I can't see why any man would put up with this insecure, idiot, who hasn't matured since she was 14.
Very entertaining book. There are several rock star series out there now. I would say it matches up to them
Jake of course. Got to love the sexy rockers with a difficult past and finding the right girl to finally settle down with.
I do not feel the right narrator was cast for this book. The narrator, although very good, did not match up to the characters. She is a better fit for a Jane Austin type of book.
No extreme reactions, but at times hard to put down. I listed to the book twice, so I did enjoy the story.
I am an avid reader, not a professional book reviewer. I gladly offer my opinion of the books I read/listen to.
This was a great listen.... it has every emotional imaginable... including forgiveness.
Jake by far ..... he has so many emotional hurdles to over come.
The tear jerking emotional time in the hotel room between Tru and Jake.
Yes, when Tru found Jake with another woman.
This book was a huge surprise. I get tired of of two part stories, but I definitely think this one is a great one to follow!! I cannot wait to read part two!
something that could truly happen..
when she first saw jake in the hotel room all the memories came flooding back.
awesome job...really enjoyed the different voices for each person..
HOT HOT HOT
yes and I have
tru bennet for loving jake enough to go to hell and back for him to turn his life around and make a good man out of him
I loved the narrator she makes the book come alive
in the hospital when jake goes to his knees and starts to cry I cried too as it was so heart wrenching. The whole hospital segment was so gut wrenching and raw
these 2 books are right up there with my favorites
True Story Book Blog
Yes....I love Jake and Tru and I love their story.
Not for any good reasons...but the Mr. Brightside scene...ripped my heart out.
I loved her accent, she sounded a little too old to really pull Tru off for me and I don't know if it's the recording or her but she had a little bit of a lisp at times - but British accents = awesome in my book, so I'm really just being nit-picky
Just everything that makes Tru and Jake who they are - I just love them to bits and pieces.
Great beginning to a fantastically addictive series - I really can't say too many times how much this book sucked me in.
Loved the story...Not crazy about the narrator. I know this is an English story, but the narrator does NOT do male voices very well. They all sound the same and like they are all gangsters, and VERY bored. I'm disappointed.
Wow Jake ♥♥♥♥
I totally loved this book. Jake is ......
sexy, hot, wonderful and I want a Jake.
At first I wanted to get inside the book and strangulate her for hurting two wonderful man, but then I cried so much that my eyes were burning. This a great story, now to start the second book.
Yes, I thought this was a good read with a good amount of drama.
The most interesting part was Jake and his passion. The least was how wishy washy Tru got.
I loved Justine's accent. I wouldn't have done Tru as much justice just by reading her story.
I can't see this being made into a movie or series, While the drama was their some things were a bit repetitive and Tru wasn't always likeable. I'm never good with picturing stars if I'm being honest. Maybe for Tru Sarah Hyland and for Jake maybe someone like Kellan Lutz.
