Hot romance/Sci Fi we're so lucky to have Audible to feed our book addictions. I love walking my precious dog Sydney & listening to my books
I really enjoyed this action paced story. Although rape is a hard subject for me i found it didn't totally dominate the story line so wasn't to bad to get through. Adam Paul is a wonderful narrator. I love his crisp voice and the way he changes it for each character. A good book and in my opinion is worth 3 1/2 stars more than the 3 I could give. I wish Audible allowed for half stars as well as whole one's :)
It was unpredictable with twists that I did not expect. Loved the characters they were more than sappy love struck superheros running through forests with bullets flying they had faults and dependance versus independence struggles that is refreshing to me a veteran adventure/romance reader.
I have enjoyed the entire KGI series but this is my favorite so far.
Addicted to any type of Romance/Erotica audio books.
This is a great book in the KGI series! It was refreshing to read about a heroine that didn't need to be protected! PJ is a tough girl and Cole loves that about her. The narration was not terrible it just was not the voice that we have associated these characters with. I can say that I never imagined Cole having such a southern accent, probably because of the previous narrator. Worth the credit for me !
Why, Why did they change the narrator? When I listen to several books in a series by the same narrator, I become accustomed to the narrators way of speaking. I loved Harry Berkeley's Rio. I loved his Sam and all of the other characters, even the women. The new narrator is probably very good, but to have him start in the middle of a series is just wrong! It would be like having a different narrator read the JD Robb books. I don't understand!
I hope that Harry Berkeley is available for Forged in Steele!
Devotee of multi-tasking, keen gardener and cross-stitcher. Now able to do both AND listen to stories at the same time. Bliss.
None of the earlier books from this series are on offer to folk in my real life location, so I disregarded the reviews that didn't like the 'new' narrator. I'm very pleased I did as I found Adam Paul to be up to the task of reading this (at times) disturbing book. I'd have no hesitation about buying books narrated by him in future and, of course, you simply can't go wrong with a Maya Banks' book!
Just finished listening to Shades of Gray... I LOVED it!
But why the change of narrator? He wasn't so bad with PJ's voice but the accent he gave the other Kelly men and Rio is gonna take a while to get used to. Can we have Harry back for Steele's story?
I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
Another KGI hit and it's all been said before - it's a fast paced, action packed, thrilling, emotional, romantic, tragic yet humorous, so basically - a gritty story that has great characters getting involved in a new drama that was very enjoyable. Yes it's unbelievable but who cares - it's fiction.
Worth a credit? I haven't found a KGI book that I haven't enjoyed or regretted spending the credit on - so folks that's a YES and I'm counting the days til Forged In Steele (which is the next one) comes to Audible.
It started off strong although sad. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it.
Ms. Banks was able to tug at my heartstrings.
Adam's performance was great but I am accustomed to the voice of Harry Berkeley. On the other hand Adam was able to change his voice to suit the many persons in the book.
The first hour of the book and the last was emotional for me.
Please Harry Berkeley, leave what you re doing the next time and get over here! Additionally, I think throughout the series that Ms. Banks seems to think that every hostage or persons saved must get married to their saviour. Also, except for a few, the women in her series appear weak and need guidance from big strong men. I swear if I hear another "Babe, you re my woman" I'll scream. All in all a very great series thus far. I would recommend it.
As a professional crochet and knitwear designer I have a lot of time to sit and listen to books. Makes the work day better!
The narrator made all the men sound nasally and similar. Not enough emotion when reading the more intimate scenes.
This is PJ's story and how the love of one man can save her. This as always was a great listen and I do recommend it.
Maya Banks continues to create a world that is possible. Her character developments are outstanding and the story lines, although very difficult to listen to, has the ability to grab the listener and hold us until the very end. I cried many times because of what PJ goes through. Cole surprised me, I thought he was just a joker, taking life as it comes with a big laugh, no seriousness to him, boy did this book ever straighten me out. He was there for PJ and he stayed there with her. The story was well developed and had a smooth continuous flow. I recommend this book because of the well developed story. The content is hard to listen to so I will warn you of that . But I will not tell the story here.
Adam Paul's narration is great. There were a couple of times the voices confused me, but over all his voices for each character was well developed and separated.
Another great read.
