I love discovering new stories while driving or working in the barn, reading voraciously since I could walk. There is no genre, just magic
I like to try new authors, however, I take my lead on who to try based on the narrators that I like so well. That gives the author a better chance to excel as it provides me with a voice I trust. This series is great in story line, mystery, romance, and you find yourself wanting to know more of the individual dynamics of the other pack members. I have all of them now and have listened to all of them.
The emotion and loyalty of the members in this group who stand together in spite of odds that would intimidate most heroes in a novel. The twists and turns are great.
Where they find out the other pack member has been held captive
You will enjoy reading / hearing this novel. It is a great book and you will want to have all of them. Lucky for you, they do not have to be read in sequence so feel free to start with any one of them.
I am addicted to audio books, mostly fantasy. I have alwayz loved to read but could never find the time. This way I keep my mind occupied with wonderful stories and don't get caught up in life's stresses. I'm so glad I found this site.
Just as good as the 1st one! By far one of the sexiest books I have read yet. I enjoy the narrator and the characters are great. No boring descriptions of the landscape and sh*t...but very descriptive in other ways. I recommend this book :)
Give me water to swim and surf in. That with a glass of red and the sun. That's heaven.
I think they're about the same and I was disappointed in both. Neith one is near a good as the firsts book
Hard time getting through this book
That the story was easy to follow since I was listening and not reading it myself.
Her attempt at different voices for different characters
Yes, would have liked to but the narration speed that I listened to the book at did not make that possible.
I came across the Alpha Pack Series looking for something similar to Black Dagger Brotherhood or The Midnight Breed Series (loved both). If you like either of these, Alpha Pack might be worth checking out. J.D. Tyler has been a pleasant surprise. I really enjoy her writing style and the story moves along at a rapid pace. I love the relationships between the pack members as well as their bondmates. And who doesn't love wereshifters? In Savage Awakening, Aric seems arrogant and abrasive but that's not who he really is. He blames himself for an attack on his pack and, in a sad turn of events, is captured and tortured, and feels as though his pack has turned their backs on him. Rowan is a LAPD officer searching for her missing brother (who is actually one of the pack members) when she finds Aric being held at the same facility. There is an instant attraction between the two and the sparks start to fly. As always, Kirsten Potter does a great job with narration. I typically prefer male narrators (such as Jim Frangione or Phil Gigante) but Kirsten does such a good job that I simply get lost in the story. She has become one of my favorite narrators.
Just finished this book and am on to the next, although I'll being reading instead of listening. Not out on audio yet. Read the ebook novella "Black Magic" before this one though, as it refers now and then to that book, with Kalen and Mac. This was another good story of the Alpha Pack of wereshifters. It's an interesting love story, in an ongoing story about the special ops group called Alpha Pack. They are trying to shut down a group, that is experimenting in making super soldiers, but mainly just into torture and murder of good people. This book gets us deeper into understanding what's going on, and we find out who's in charge of the bad guys. Leading us into the next book. It's not the Black Dagger Brotherhood, but if you like that series, then give this one a try. It has the same kind of feel to it, with love stories happening within an ongoing crusade. You'll love the characters.
good series, book #1 took too much of the story setting the stage for this series. #2 gets into the story solid.
strong heroine and Eric is such a hunk
she has a great male's voice which helps this series a great deal
When Micah tells his sister they "hurt him" "really hurt him"
Customer favorites sale!! Great price for a good listen.
Absolutely!! I didn't think the second book could get any better than the first and it almost exceeded it! I loved every moment. The characters are all so very interesting to me. I also love the humor, I found myself laughing out loud...not good when you're in a public place by yourself...anyway, I love Aric, I love the whole Alpha Pack is just delicious.
In this book, Aric is my favorite, but in the last book Jacks was, so I guess it's whomever the story is focused on. I actually really like Cereal (sp?)--the fey prince, he was a standout character in both the first and this book as well. I like who he seems to be, his innocence is really cute.
She has phenomenal narration skills! She really gets into the characters and literally gives them life, it's awesome.
Yes, and I almost did, but I really needed to go to sleep so I could go to work the next day ;-)
Great book, although I'm concerned about the reviews I've read for the next one..Black Moon...I'll probably buy it anyway because Kalen has also become a favorite character.
Yes, I would definitely recommend this book (and series) to a friend. All in all, this is a very very good series. I like this book because it has a strong female main character who gives as well as she gets. The exchanges between her and Aric are really fun to listen to.
The part I liked best was when she was cloaked and boarded the helicopter on a mission and how she killed the huge evil fae. I also liked the part where she turns into a beautiful sable colored wolf, as well as her banter with the members of the Alpha Team.
Potter's inflections for the the voices of the different characters is very good, even though she could make the rough and tough male voices a little more masculine.
