Definitely. A fresh take on an old classic. Well written with living breathing characters that it didn't take long to like. I'm hoping the ride won't stop here. Looking forward to more from this author and these characters! I originally bought it thinking it was short and inexpensive and I couldn't loose. Well I didn't! Thanks Jax!
Wesley...he is just heartbreaking and so deserving of more and has hope. I also love that he doesn't have a drop of self pity.
She did an excellent job with the voicing. I could easily tell one character from another and she is one of those women that can do male voices well also.
Buckle up Buttercup!
I bought this instead of using a credit, just because it was inexpensive and I save credits for more expensive books. Credit or cash...it's a good listen.
romantic, tortured, hopeful
Can't think of any off hand.
It was great overall.
The book was broken into three parts and sold as three different books. Tough, I enjoyed the story, it most definitely NOT worth 3 credits. One credit yes, but not three…. I feel a little cheated.
Theresa Plummer is a fantastic narrator. I am adding her to my favorite narrators list to watch out for.
Only a little bit. The book was magical, but Therese is a hella good reader. She really got the characters and their situations and feelings... and all of that came through in the reading
How well every feeling and emotion came through. You don't just read one of Jax's stories, you FEEL them.
Her voice was fantastic, her voices for different characters was consistant, and she really knew how to put the emotions of the customers into her reading. Her reading it was, mixed with the vivid imagry of the story, made this like a movie!
It's a heart stopping, panty dropping, ass kicking good time!
I never read the print version but Therese Plummer did a wonderful ob as always.
Of course Hauk! He is so damaged on the outside but once you know him and what he is all about you can't help but to love him.
She brings every character to life. I was so glad when I saw she was the narrator I just had to purchase the book on her alone.
Could you love a beast.......
Just buy the book it is worth it. I know its short but the action and romance are great! give it a try!!
I love all genres of books. However, when I listen to audio books as I clean, garden, drive they are better with a lot of heat!
I bought this book because of the reviews and was quite excited for this sexy, Steampunk retelling of my favourite fairy tale, but I sadly was very disappointed. To start with I felt a little concerned that beauty is only 17 and working in a strip club.I don't think that is legal or moral. The book was not very sexy or very Steampunk. There's only one sex scene at the very beginning, but it felt forced. And the whole time I just kept thinking "how is this physically possible?"! There was a cloth screen between them so I must have missed something, because otherwise it just wasn't possible to be doing what they were doing.
As for the Steampunk element, well, I did kind of like how it was portrayed. It's more underground Steampunk, literally. There's the Underlight society which is located underground and that's where all of the steam and clockwork is. But we don't get to see too much of it either way, since our hero and heroine are on the run from an enemy society. I'm still not fully clear on what was happening with that. I just kind of nodded my head and continued reading and was glad to reach the end.
Glad the book was only a few dollars or I would have felt very ripped off
I just couldn't get into the story or the characters in this book. Seemed too highly implausible, even for a fantasy storyline. The narrator did a good job, but that's about the only good thing I can say about this audiobook.
