After years of mediocre books this is the first that equals of his early works. The cyber war scenario feels real and is well developed. Even the Chinese threat is developed enough to be believable. The final action scenes with Jack Jr. are a little far fetched but no more so than Jack Sr.'s fights on a nuclear sub. Good fast read.
LIfe-long reader, fond of mysteries, scifi, fantasy. Prefer good story-tellers, with interesting premises. Road warrior-so listen a lot!
Tom Clancy's imagination has always had a tendency to find potential real problems and make an exciting story. If someone had paid attention to Executive Orders, we might have had a better system in place on 9/11 to protect the Federal buildings.
Now he has imagined the cyber threat in its full extent, reinforced by the enemy equivalent of Seal Team Six. Jack Ryan Sr, President is President and managing the crisis, but Jack Ryan, JR. is now doing the derring-do. But he has problems - his girl friend is being manipulated by the Enemy, the Enemy is aware of the super-secret organization for which he is both analyst and operative.
And the Enemy knows a hell of a lot, because it controls the WWW, has hacked into most of the essential systems of modern life - banking, power, water. II found it worrying IRL - but it makes for a great story!
Say something about yourself!
CLANCY CAN TELL A GOOD STORY.
I THINK HIS BEST STUFF WAS WHEN HE TOLD STORIES DURING THE COLD WAR LIKE" HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER".LATER ON HE TENDED DO GET A BIT PREACHY.VECTOR IS A RETURN TO HIS ROOTS AND FAVORITE CHARACTER....JACK RYAN...AND HIS SON JACK RYAN JR.
BASICALLY IT'S A GOOD STORY,GOOD PLOT AND LOU DIAMOND DOES AN
EXCELLENT JOB AS NARRATOR.
IF YOU ARE IN THE MOOD FOR THE "OLD".....TOM CLANCY......IT'S WORTH READING.
Awesome spy thriller Tom Clancy at his best.
The plot is very contemporary dealing with China US relationship

There was just the right amount of background story to good spy/action story.
The last discussion of the two presidents and how things went on from there.
They all have been really good.

Lou Diamond Phillips great naration draws u in and keeps up the pace
Jack junior he just links all the story line and charctors
I enjoy all the charactors have realy enjouyed the energy that Mark greaney has added to the style and pace of writing
Not any extreame but just had to listen I drive for a living and these books actuly keep me alert and able to do the 12-14 hrs of driving a day that I do
The production. The sound is not good. Lou Diamond Phillips breath intake is annoying.
Anybody who would not gasp for breath.
This is one of those rare stories that could have been 3 or 4 books rather than one. Many of the supporting plot lines was so interesting I would have loved to see the sub-stories elevated. I don't say these things as criticism, but rather as a compliment. Clancy did a masterful job (as usual) with facts, locations, and keeping things realistic ... but he really shows development in his action sequences in this book. His characters are never going to Jason Bourne, mind you ... but all the same, this book exceeds his already great work in the action department. I highly recommend.
Yes because of the quality of the narration
How Center manipulated the pawns
Twisted web of international intrigue
I no longer live in Worcester. I now live in Brooklyn, NY.
What a ride! I don't know what to say except if you are a Jack jr. fan you will love this one!
