We love this series and have listened to them all! However, the mystery aspect of this addition to these Historical, Romantic, Mystery Novels was far weaker than in any of the previous books!
The story is very original and actually makes sense, not like Sherlock Holmes or Poirot that never gives the reader enough clues to solve the crime. The author throws some obvious clues here and there, but the whole story revolves around Lady Georgiana's daily life.
I have yet to read or listen to a poor Rhys Bowen mystery and with Katherine Kellgren narrating it has, so far, always been a 5 star listen.
Lady Georgiana finds work for a Christmas event thrown by gentry advertising for a "a Lady" to be the hostess to an Old Fashioned Christmas in a small town.
Georgie finds her mother, Darcy and her father in town to help solve a series of murders. Love is also a part of this Christmas, creating a fun listen.
I absolutely loved the characters in this book and I thought the narrator did a fantastic job. I purchased this book because it was December and it was Christmas themed. I didn't realize it was the 6th book in a series but there was no problem with reading this as a stand alone novel. I didn't feel like I was missing out on any back story.
Christmas theme and had it brought to live all the old traditions.
Downtown Abbey meets Agatha Christie.
I enjoyed this but so much that I am now starting the series from the beginning.
A real English drawing room mystery. Wonderful story well told. The narrator could not have been better.
I can't say. I have not read the book.
When Darcy said he loved her.
The mystery murders kept you guessing right until the end! Loved that.
