in this book you will find clues and adventure all wrapped around the Christmas holidays and has to do with the 12 days of Christmas song! I found this book very entertaining and kept my interest! My two favorite characters in this book are Darcy and Queenie ! This is a great read for a cold wintry night to listen to by the fire! I thoroughly enjoy the series!
Loved the story. For fans of Her Royal Spyness Series this book is more of a romance than murder mystery despite the murders. I was happy to see Georgie & Darcy spend more time together as a regular couple. Also, I was delighted to see their relationship advance.
I adored the descriptions of old English Christmas. All the activities sound like quite a bit of fun. I discovered their are country homes in the UK where such festivities are hosted - without the bodies.
Georgie was the first to determine the accidents were murders & it took them a while to put the mystery together. Georgie & Darcy worked well together on the mystery. I'd like to see more of them working together on mysteries.
Whenever Georgie & Darcy get married I hope that book will be similar to this one; lots of romance with just a bit of mystery. Hopefully, their wedding won't be too many books away.
I would also like to see them at Sir Hubert's estate since he knows both of them. And of course, Darcy needs to take her to Ireland.
This is the second book in this series I have read and enjoyed both of them. Narration is good and the mystery keeps a reader thinking throughout.
A classic English mystery with engaging dialogue and descriptive detail is delivered by an extremely capable actress! How many voices and accents can one woman do? This was a delightful novel to listen to during the Holidays!

I enjoy listening to Christmas story books around the holiday and this one fit just perfectly.
I love Lady Georgiana and her Darcy!
She is able to carry off the different voices and I can keep track which character is speaking.
This was "light listening" book, which is exactly what I needed in between the weighter books that I listen to.
Fans of this series will know what to expect... and once again, Rhys Bowen doesn't let us down. For me, this is the best of the Royal Spyness mystery stories so far, which just get better and better with each instalment. Katherine Kellgren brings each character to life wonderfully, and the ending of yet another enjoyable Lady Georgiana adventure is always a sad occassion... until the next one of course!
For anyone new to Lady Georgiana Rannoch, where have you been hiding? Basically 'The Twelve Clues of Christmas' is a light hearted murder mystery set in the English countryside over the Christmas holidays, featuring Lady Georgiana as our heroine and regal amatuer sleuth, who finds herself on the scene of a variety of strange murders. This is very Agatha Christie-ish in it's style, unlikely scenarios and coincidences abound, but it's done with plenty of humour... and there's even some romance thrown in.
All in all, this was a very enjoyable audiobook to listen to, and 'The Twelves Clues of Christmas' is an excellent addition to the fun Royal Spyness series of books.
I was looking for something with a Christmas twist, and The Twelve Clues of Christmas was perfect.
Yes, I would recommend this book to my cozy mystery reading friends. It is the best book in the series...each book seems to be getting better.
Actually, it did keep me wondering. This story is about Georgie escaping her rotten sister-in-law's family for Christmas by taking a paid job as a hired hostess/helper over the Christmas holidays at a country estate. The owners are hosting a large Christmas party, scheduled to last many days and Georgie is to help with activities and needs of the guests. It just so happens that someone died in what is thought to be a bizzare accident before she arrived. However, more people meet with "accidents" following her arrival and she can't help but cry MURDER!
This is the closest so far to an Agatha Christie style mystery in the bunch. That is a high compliment from me. If you are not a fan of Ms. Christie, but you enjoy the Royal Spyness books, I think you'll also adore this story.
All the scenes between Georgie and her beau. Yes, they are together throughout most of the story. I love all the scenes between them.
No tears were shed in listening to this book! There were a number of giggles along the way and a whole lot of satisfied listening.
This is a mystery I will pull out each December to get me in the mood for Christmas. You thought I was going to say murder, didn't you?
