I've always been a avid reader so now I'm a avid listener. I prefer the paranormal genre but I do like to switch things up. It's boring if you don't have variety. Of course I do love the romance and the hotter the better. Also, you can't beat a good thriller filled with suspense and a ending you can't even guess at until the very end.
"Rollercoaster of emotions"
Wow, this one put me through the ringer. Kiera is a young woman who has moved far away from her family with Denny. Denny is the only man she has ever been with and he is her first love. They move in with Kellan. Kiera is attracted to Kellan.Something happens (don't want to spoil the story) and she has sex with Kellan and the emotional rollercoaster begins.
Other reviews think badly of Kiera but I see her as an inexperienced young woman who loves Denny with a young girls love, but loves Kellan with a woman’s love and has no idea how to deal with this. In my opinion this is so similar to situations to life. Life isn’t black or white, its shades of grey and everyone deals with things their own way. Kiera is on the verge of becoming a woman and she loves two men.
This is a great listen. I was on the edge of my seat, knowing what she should do, wondering what she would do. I felt so bad for Denny, Kellan and Kiera. It is so similar to life. I felt like it was a credit well spent.
"Worst book I've ever listened to!"
I can't tell what was worse, the narration or the plot/main character!? I couldn't even get halfway through part 2... Waste of money. Also I'm Australian and one of the main characters in the book is Australian and the narrator puts on the worst Australian accent I have heard- it's offensive.
Definitely not, I haven't even been able to finish this book!
Maybe, I'd hate to discount her completely because of a poorly executed story and characters.
The heroine was so painful and annoying! All she did was whinge! I've never read or listened to a story with a more dependent, needy and selfish heroine! I wanted to slap her!
"Performance"
The sound of the book was bad. It sounded if she was in a tunnel. It sounded as though she was talking through a funnel.
No problem with the story just the sound.
Yes she sounded as though she was in a tunnel.
Disappointment.
Have the lady rerecord the book so that she could be in a different area.
"Loved It!! When will we see Effortless on here???"
Yes. Great story that I just could not quit listening to. A love story that tugs at your heart and your nerves... you want to smack them, hold them and kiss them all in five minutes!!
When Kellan spilled out all of his feelings for her!
She was good at switching her voice between characters. I have a hard time with that on most books. This narrator did a great job.
When they finally decided to be together..
The audio was terrible on this one. I could hear the narrator fine and she was great but there was alot of background noise going in and out. Sounded like they were taping this in a room of someones house...
"Great Narrator- Horrible Heroine"
Somewhere in the middle... it was fairly enjoyable. I like to have a strong character that I can root for and aspire to be...and Kiara does not deliver. Having said that, the narrator was AWESOME - her Australian accent made me do the fangirl swoon!
Kiara was whiny, annoying, and constantly stringing these poor 2 boys around. She didn't own up to any of her mistakes and was always blaming someone else. I just couldn't root for her....
I can honestly say I didn't have one
If you're looking for something to fill the void until an Audiobook that you really want to listen to comes out this will do the trick- not a complete waste of a credit
I do not just want to read books; i wish i could climb in and live there.
"I loved this book so much!"
Again and again and again! I loved the triangle and hoped that Kiera grow and make the right decision.
Kellan & Denny It was hard at time I felt for them both <3
This is my first time listening to Rebekkah and would listen to her again - in a heartbeat she did a great job! I'm Australian and I only picked her up a couple of times.
Easy Kellan!
I would like to listen to "Effortless" I can't wait hopefully you will get it soon?
"No where near Fifty Shades"
I was having withdraws after reading the Fifty Shades Trilogy and Bared to You books and this book was suggested...it is so ridiculously long winded. The "scenes" are nothing like Bared to you or Fifty Shades and the Keira is whiney and annoying. That being said I am anxious to know what happens after the 6 hours Ive already invested thinking it would get better so I am reluctantly listening to the rest of it.
I dont know if all of her books are so PG rated...if any of her books mimic Fifty or Bared to you then I would but another book like this one is not for me.
Yes the narrator was a woman and she should of stopped trying to do the Australian male accent...it just wasn't needed.
I am listening at work and have nothing else to listen to while I work but I would take 20 hours on vacation lets say and listen to this book.
Keep looking if you are craving another Fifty or Bared to you rush.
"A typical end to a long distance relationship"
Yes, I would listen to this book again. I liked this book the least of the 3, as it takes a while to get to know the characters and the narration was hard to listen to initially. When considering your credit investment, it is important to know that the series is fantastic and addicting as a whole. The passion and relationship between Kiera and Kellan are as gripping as with the relationships in Twighlight and 50 Shades. I plan to go back and relisten to this book now that I know the characters and the struggles they endured along the way. I always seem to miss something.
I would compare the passion, heart breaking background, and normal girl with extraodinary guy to Twilight, 50 Shades, and maybe even Pretty Woman.
I must admit that this was hard book to start. I thought the narrator was very green and flat initially. As the story picked up, she improved. I would have scored her lower on this book; however, she did such a great job in the books following.
From mid book on Thoughtless through the end of the trilogy, I sure did!
Excellent series once you get past the first half of the first book. When starting this series, make sure you have enough credits to finish the series, as you will not be able to put it down!!! Promise!
"Addicting"
Intoxicating, Captivating, Frustrating
She did a great job portraying the men in this book. It is difficult to make it believable and she nailed it.
I cried when she was left by both men although it was the best scenario under the circumstances.
She is both hated & liked throughout the book. However the fact that she was only with 1 man prior does not make it believable that she would sleep with both men who were like brothers living in the same house. I think it could have been better written.
"It just went on and on....."
Very predictable, self absorbed Kiera plays 2 guys so obviously. This is definitely a better read for a young reader.
