I enjoy historical, paranormal, and contemporary romance. Also steampunk, sci-fi, fantasy, suspense, and fiction. I'm open to about anything
Setting: New York and North Carolina, contemporary
Genre: Paranormal romance
Sophie Eastlake is a good narrator for this series. She's good at differentiating characters from one another, and she does male/female voices well. Her pacing is very good.
I liked this book better than the first 4. Lord's Fall gives more of the relationship between Pia and Dragos, and explores his challenges with dealing with others. He does have those personality issues. These are wrapped in a compelling plot that will keep you listening. It's an excellent addition to the series.
Definitely worth the credit.
! Love to listen to jazz, r/b and listen to erotic or a good paranormal sci-fi and " good narration is everything"
Love everything about this story, all the drama, action! So sad for all the hate and killing because of an elders' insanity. I wonder what the world would be if everyone just stop hating? I THANK YOU MS. THEA HARRISON FOR A DAMN GOOD SERIES
This book reminded me of how much I loved the dynamics between Dragos and Pia from the first book in the series. Pia is still adorable and ridiculous with a solid heart of gold while Dragos is even more intimidating and autocratic, but he loves Pia with a strength that knows no boundaries and it shows. At the beginning of the book, Pia, pregnant and mated, is off to elven territory to mend the relationship between the wyr and the elves. What was originally supposed to take no more than a week to complete, quickly turns into a poop-show, placing Pia and the little Peanut in harms way and sending Dragos in the midst of the battle.
The book is fast-paced with bursts of intimacy between Dragos and Pia displaying their growing relationship and the alterations each individual makes in the relationship. The banter between them is priceless and it allows the reader a glimpse of what can be with this unstoppable and powerful couple. We also see more of the previous characters as well as new ones such as Eva, the alpha of the guard unit sent to protect Pia. Eva and Pia form a special bond, their verbal and telepathic exchanges forcing me into bouts of laughter. It is the makings of a true friendship and it was nice to see Pia have someone else she can trust and care for other than a select few who sometimes are too busy for her.
The events in this book are connected to those of the last novel in which the Oracle of Louisville tells Dragos a prophecy that includes him. There is a battle at the end of the tale and a huge and sad alteration for the Elven people has occurred. We see the winners of the Sentinel games and although it wasn't much of a surprise, it will still be a lot of fun to read about each of the sentinels in future books. The end of the novel was a surprise to me and to the characters in the story as well, but it ended in such an uplifting note, placing a smile on my face.
Overall, a fantastic story; entertaining, humorous, and exciting. I can't wait to start on the next one!
Narrator: Sophie Eastlake
Eastlake is perfect as the narrator in this series. She delivers the quick and witty banter perfectly and she distinguishes the voices of the characters pretty well. I hope she continues to narrate for this series.
Book 5 is a follow-up to Dragos' and Pia's story from Book 1. To get the full benefit of the story, you should first read the other 4 books in the series. This series is excellent, and I'll buy anything Thea Harrison writes! The same narrator, Sophie Eastlake, read all 5 books in the series, and she is excellent. All 5 books in this series rock - all are interesting, unique and HOT!
Dragos, a dragon, is one of the best male leads I've seen in years! He is hot, a total bad-ass and not afraid to show, and tell, Pia how he feels about her. I love how Thea brings the baby (Liam) into the mix - his story will come someday, and I can't wait! In this story, Thea introduces two new Wyr sentinals, one of which is Pia's friend Quentin from Book 1, who will mate in Book 6 with Aryal, a Harpy sentinal. This book was great because it closed the loop on some open issues in prior books, and it set the framework for future books. Thea Harrison is now one of my favorite authors!
Dragos and Pia are by far my favorite couple in the elder races series. Their dynamic is hilarious and makes for an interesting mix no matter what situation theyre in.
When Dragos comes to save Pia and the Elves from the fire.
When Pia wakes up to find everyone asleep and she sarcastically wakes everyone up.
The begining of time has come to this.
My only complaint is that it feels like she tried to cram too much into one book. The book could have easily been a few hours longer. Towars the end I felt like she was trying to wrap up sooooo much that she jumped time and scenes quickly.
Many times I do not like a continuation of a "boy meets girl" "boy gets girl" story. Because I think what else can you do to make their story interesting. But without telling you too much, this one was great! I loved getting reacquainted with some of old characters and meeting some new ones! Dragos was even cooler in Book 5 than he was in Book 1! If you loved Dragos and Pia's story in the first book, you will love this one too.
Nurse, mom, loved to read....but now I love to listen. When I retire I hope to hear waves crashing in 1 ear and audible in the other!
Yes, I usually like to listen to a series in order but bought this on sale. I've read 1& 2 and loved them both....3& 4 seem to be about other characters so when I saw this was about Dragoes and Pia I went ahead and listened....so glad I didn't wait! There is some action and interesting story line but it essentially picks up where book 1 ended and completes their love story...
Well I still have to say I like Dragoes the best...
She does Dragoes exceptionally sexy for a girl...but I loved the way she performed Eva...a saucy butt-kicker and one of Eva's body guards.
Can't give it away but the end is a really feel good kind of moment...
Now I may go back and do 3 & 4 but these that I have listened to stand alone on their own!!!!
Thea strayed from her other books by revisiting Pia and Dragos. Her story line in this book allowed us a better glimpse in their lives as well as bringing in new characters. Evie!!
When Liam was born. I hope she writes more on the little guy, even if it's encompased in another plot for differen characters.
I love that all her books are connected. You feel as if your part of the drama and now it just makes me wish she would write quicker. I am dying to get another one of her books.
the story moves out, reaching into other lands and peoples. Personalities have greater depth and new ones emerge. Things are changing in how they react to each other and even to the changes in themselves. There is story, emotion, love, hate, and it all seems so real. I only have one question. Where is the next in this series? Even my male friends have mixed feelings but quite a few liked the stories as well as all the physical prowess.
