I was very happy to find out more about Pia and Dragos's relationship, and I absolutely loved this book. Sophie Eastlake also did great narrating, as usual.
I am Who I am; and you are Who you are...so lets leave it at that.
I loved Thea Harrison first book in this series. And the characters back!!!! I just want to say this book is not a stand alone you have to read or listen to Dragon Bound and then Oracle’s Moon. This book reference these books. But if you are para-romance fan and want to get into a new series that will be around a while I suggest you look into the elder races series. It has not disappointed me yet.
I like when authors give characters multiple books in a series. Its like catching up with old friends. If you read or listened to Dragon Bound and loved it like I did you will love this one too. You get to know how the couple and unborn dragon baby is doing. I have a feeling there will be few more books with Pia, Dragos, and Peanut. (Figures crossed)
The book has romance and sexy men. Fighting and evil vs good. It gave a little about future books like who will be hooking up next. And Surprises about characters in Pia life (like her ex-sexy boss).
This book will keep you entertained. I hope you agree and Enjoy;-)
I just love this series. I enjoyed the audiobook for Lord's Fall, even more than the paperback. I think that is due to Sophie Eastlake's narration. The personalities of the characters comes through so much better. I particularly loved Eva, the snarky, hard-ass bodyguard who gives Pia such a hard time in the beginning but comes around to being a loyal and devoted protector.
When I read this book last year I wasn't paying enough attention so this time I really got the connection between the 'God Machine', and the Oracle's prophecy from book 4.
Of course! I love all the characters. Can't wait to see how the baby boy is going to be.
Pia and Dragos. I love how they are still learning from one another.
I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
I like this story sooo much. I was wondering what happen to Pya and Dragos... I totally skipped the book with the Gin... stupid!!! Dragos is sooo smexy it anit even funny. I was sad that Pya and Dragos was not together throughout most of the book, however the action did not disappoint. When Dragos went to get his mate was awesome. I loved it. Plus, peanut was finally born!!! Great story...Worth the credit/buy.
Narration was awesome.
I've read all the books in this series, and I'm glad I have, because if this had been the first I would not have tried another. The narrator is fine, I have no complaints there, it was just that the story itself didn't really interest me until more than halfway through.
I knew and liked the characters from previous books, and some of the dialogue and descriptive passages are really quite funny, which was the only reason I kept reading after the first fifty pages or so. The entire first half of the book doesn't really seem to have much plot. Pia is driving, morning sick, arriving, complaining, stressing, talking, and Dragos is working, thinking, grumpy, talking... You get the idea. It's only after they arrive in the elvin wood that anything happens that could actually be called a plot. The last hundred pages or so are fast-paced and fairly intense, with a climactic battle scene that is not terribly epic but reasonably good.
The book did have some good love scenes, I suppose. This volume of the series revisited the protagonists from the first book, which was fine,I usually enjoy when authors do that. However, most authors also include a secondary romance in stories like this. Thea Harrison does not, which in my oppinion made the story less interesting--it's not like anything terribly new and exciting happens between Pia and Dragos here--their relationship deepens and matures a little, but not enough takes place on that front to justify an entire novel.
I get the sense that this was a transitional book--Thea Harrison seems to have set the stage for several more stories here, and has perhaps made room for some fundamental changes in the fabric of the world of the Elder Races. I will probably read the next one, but I'll save a credit for it and not pay full price, that's for sure.
The ending was fine. the last two sentences or so actually effected me more emotionally speaking than the rest of the book combined.
She does a good job differentiating the voices, and reads the humor comically, instead of staying completely deadpan. This series isn't one of the best ever by a longshot, and quite frankly, if it wasn't for this narrator I might not have bothered to go past the second book.
If you've read and enjoyed the rest of the series, sure, read this book. But don't expect too much, and either use a credit or get it on sale. Don't pay either the full or member price. Also, if you're planning to take this on a long car or plane trip, make sure you take a back-up, just in case you find yourself getting frustrated by the marked absence of plot that plagues most of the book.
I've always been a avid reader so now I'm a avid listener. I prefer the paranormal genre but I do like to switch things up. It's boring if you don't have variety. Of course I do love the romance and the hotter the better. Also, you can't beat a good thriller filled with suspense and a ending you can't even guess at until the very end.
The story continuing. I have enjoyed all the books in this series, so I can't wait for the next one.
Great as ever.
Well worth the credit.
Audiobook Addict. It's all about the Listen. Mostly Romance, but I do branch out a bit. Reviews are my honest opinions-popular or not.
I find myself going back and relistening to this series when I'm in between new reads. There is a good amount of comedy along with the drama and action. Yes, there is some sex, but it isn't the main focus like an erotic novel with a bit of action between sex scenes. It's more like a Percy Jackson or Harry Potter type fantasy world series for grownups who aren't offended by some heat between the sheets and adult language.
I hope there are more installments ahead. I also hope that the novellas will get recorded since they are a nice tie-in. They're inexpensive as kindle purchases on Amazon which I felt compelled to get as a little appetizer while awaiting this book to be written. I listen to audiobooks because I do not generally have the time to read, but I made an exception because I just love the Elder Races world.
Start at the beginning with Dragon Bound. The whole series is so worth the credits!!
This story focuses more on events then a romance between mates. It is a decent story and there is a surprise big event at the end of the story. If you have enjoyed the series so far, you will likely enjoy this novel.

I really enjoy how Thea Harrison mixes it up with stories about the different elder races, but also keeps up with Pia & Dragos!! I'm really enjoying this series.
