I have listened to it twice already, it is a good read and very entertaining. never a dull moment.
So glad James Marsters is doing the reading he is just great. He is very good with the characters change. He is one of my favorites.
James Marsters continues his excellent portrayal of Harry Dresden and Jim Butcher continues his blitzkrieg on the literary world. This is one of my favorite novels in this series and the only reason it is not in my top 10 is simply that the wheel of time has more than 10 books.
The description of Maeve's outfit at Harry's birthday. Harry's description is a great turn of phrase.
By this point it was not surprise me if James Marsters hung out a PI shingle and started uttering phrases of faux latin. I am pretty sure he is the personification of Harry Dresden.
Yes, sadly 18 hours is a bit long to go without snacks.
So .... when is the next book due to be published?
Maybe I knew what had to happen. There were hints in the last three Harry Dresden novels. I am sure the readers of Jim Butcher novels would not let Harry rest in whatever configuration the author had left him. We needed Harry Dresden to be reborn. The Winter Knight served all just fine.
One thing that has happened to this reader is that I have lined up ALL the Harry Dresden novel and am listening to them again, in order. I am looking for the Gestalt that Jim Butcher, James Marsters and the listener, me, myself create when we get together. It will be awesome once I get a hold of that.
An excellent continuation of the Dresden Files series. This book reveals much while bring up more questions. As a series and as a book the Dresden Files and this book are amazing. Some of the best Urban Fantasy ever written. It is a pleasure to have James Marsters back in reading the series. The last book, Ghost Story was read by another reader. That other reader did an amazing job, but Marsters has become the voice of Dresden and will always be. If they ever do the Dresden Files movie or try to do the TV series again he will have to play Harry!
Jim Butcher and James Marsters team up to deliver the ultimate in a great story told by a master story teller.
Yes, it's excellent on almost all points.
The rest in the Dresden series. The Jim Butcher Dresden books are the books all other Urban Fantasy is compared to.
Marsters has become the voice of Harry Dresden. Even when I read the print versions of the books I hear Marsters' voice for Harry.
Not extreme, but I did laugh.
I was disappointed in the last book but this one was certainly worth sticking with the series for. Was a great book with tons of action. I am also soon glad that they brought back Marsters to read this. He is exactly what Dresden should be.
I always recommend Dresden to friends.
Dreseden and the Wild Hunt was one of the highlights of the Novel.
Cat Sith was my favorite, I hope he returns
The End moved me the most, it ended in typical Dresden fashion, leaving you wanting more.
Say something about yourself!
The story of Harry Dresden coping, or attempting to cope, with being the Winter Knight is very compelling. The twists and turns this book takes are typical Butcher, and are as good, or better, than ever. Harry's cast of pals is back and haven't lost a beat, plus we see a side of Mack we never have before. The best part of the audio book is that James Marsters is back as the narrator, and he is a fantastic Dresden, something that was truly lacking in Ghost Story. I highly recommend this book to all Dresden fans, and if you have yet to start reading the series...What are you WAITING for?!? Go, Go, GO!
With James Marsters back narrating, it is as great as expected. I hope they never are so misguided as to record again without him as narrator, once was too many.
