Always ready for my next smutty story.
Rating 4.5 stars
Swoon... Is was a different type of book than what I would normally go for. I normally prefer smut to romance but this story was so lovely. Normally I need to feel attracted to the hero so that I can picture myself as the heroine (did I mention I read smut). But this story I didn't do that for me. I was reading it like she was my closest girlfriend and I was genuinely and ridiculously happy for this union...and I loved it!!
This story made my heart happy to think that guys like Lucas could actually exist. Really enjoyed this story :). And the voicer did a great job. Especially loved the tone she used for Lucas, but she made very distinctive choices with each character so they all sounded different.
Avid reader who hates it when editors or writers butcher the English language. Honest reviewer.
I wasn't really drawn to the characters but I understood them. The story was good like a chic flick I'd watch once & might mention to a friend. If you're into that listen to this book. The narrator did a good job.
This is my first time ever listening to an audiobook, other than the cassettes we all listened to in elementary school.
I absolutely loved it!
Tara Sands did a wonderful job narrating this book, and I think that is a huge part of why I loved it so much. The pace was fantastic and everything spot on as if I was reading myself.
The story itself was great, easy to follow and the characters were great as well.
A+ read, I highly recommend!
I loved the storyline. The hot, bad boy hero who is sexy yet sweet and caring. This is a wonderful love story. It is a bit deeper than the usual romance novels which is something I loved about this book. This book pulls at your heartstrings and will make you want to find a man like Lucas and never let him go.
This was a really good story with very realistic incidents. The characters were believable and lovable, especially Lucas.
I love romance novels and need to have stories that focus on a romance, and this one did, it just wasn't as prominent. However, I also love stories about family and self discovery. In this story, Jacqueline discovered herself for who she really is, not who she became with her ex-boyfriend and all his frat boy friends. It took a lot of work and some major incidents for her come into her own but she did.
And during all of this she has a crush on a bad boy with his own issues. And even though his growth his not as much as hers, Jacqueline gets him to a place where he can even try to think about healing. These two broken young adults help each other and love each other. They're so good for one another.
I really enjoyed this book very much and would recommend it to anyone that enjoys love and healing.
In pursuit of truth, justice, and an end to spoilers!
Lovers of new adult romances will definitely want to check this out! (Yes, this is a new adult book, by the way. It’s about college students, should you want to know. The plot description above is kind of nonexistent.)
Be warned that this opens with a realistic portrayal of an attempted rape on a college campus. It’s not gory, but it’s uncomfortable to hear. It’s also central to the plot; our heroine needs to deal with all the jumbled emotions and whispered rumors that come from the attack, and from the fact that the attacker is still at large. I thought this was all very well done by the author. She’s got a sensitive eye for the subtleties in her character’s lives. Life is messy, and traumatic events are an added curve ball. The main character is a survivor though, well worth cheering through to the end.
But that’s not what makes this book so good. I loved the characters! And the ones I didn’t love were a lot like some people I remember from my own college experiences.
And the romance? Well worth the price of admission! Lucas has some demons of his own to work past, and is way up on my “good characters” list. Jacqueline and Lucas’s love story is sweet, sensitive, and just down right yummy. ;) I found myself making time to listen to this one.
Good writing, yummy romance, cheer-worthy heroine... New adult romance trifecta! Nice narration too. If this is your genre, highly recommended!
Loved it! In my top 20 audiobooks.
Not sure, it's a unique cute story.
I liked her but not loved her. She definitely wasn't a first choice narrator for me.
I felt like I was right there experiencing everything. Loved that!
