I stayed up late and listened to this book all in one day. You feel invested in the characters from the beginning and feel like you are going along the journey with them. It deals with some difficult topics in a believable way without being over-the-top. The narrator was good. She was able to give each character personality and her male voices were fairly good.
I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
Did I just get smacked in face with an unexpected love story! OMG! I really think I did!
This was soo freaking good, I am a little shocked... I totally love, love, love the male character. Like alot. And you know what... I think I really like the female character too. OK... Yes! I totally got smacked in the face here.
The blurp does nothing for this book, neither does the title.
Lucas is a very well developed character, with some very well drawn out emotional issues. Think of a hot, smexy emo brainaic who is popular but very mysterious at the same time. Jacqulyn is the ex-girlfriend of the hot frat boy. I mean this is a love story, basic love story rules should apply... but not really. There is such a unqiue twist to the love story rules that I am not sure if this qualifies.
Having said that, this is a love story, smex could have been better, but it was good for this book.
They are college students, so no real life action, just college drama... but Lucas background is a real tearjearker... and what almost happens to Jackie...OMG!!!
Such a good book. I would not buy this book, but definately worth a free credit. Totally unepected though.
You know what...I really think its the Sands narration. I not sure is Tara is related to Xe, but she does a great job just like Xe... not as good as Xe, but a close third compared to Maby...
First of all, I want everyone who’s reading this review to be fully aware that a lot of content in this book is all about THE very things that I normally say absolutely NO to when reading a book. So, me giving this book 4 stars is pretty ginormous. Number one, I do not read Contemporary. Number two, I do not read anything that has Adult or New Adult content. And, lastly, I stay 100 feet away from anything that has to do with sexual assault. All of the peeps out there who have been trying to push me into reading this book really don’t know me too well. But even after saying all that, I actually quite enjoyed this book.
I listened to Easy on Audible on a road trip, and I only started listening to it because I was struggling to keep awake while listening to another book. I’m not going to tell you what other book I had to put on hold in order to listen to Easy, but I think everyone would die if they knew what book I set aside to listen to this one.
Anyways, the scene in the very beginning pretty much should have told me to run far, far away. But it didn’t frighten me as much as it normally would, and I was consumed into the writing style so that I kept on listening.
Easy was written with extremely well developed characters. Jacqueline is struggling with a previous breakup, then this horrible thing happens to her and then she grows into a very strong character throughout the story. Everything about Lucas is easy to fall in love with from his hot looks, to his funny, playful and protective personality. And then there are the several douchebag characters that were very well developed too.
Obviously, you can see that this book is full of all kinds of drama, so it’s a given that there would be a lot of tears shed while listening to this book. And yes, I sobbed! The best part of the story was the romance with Jacqueline and Lucas! The whole development of their relationship was extremely well done.
Not reading a YA novel before, I would rate it about an 8 on my scale. Very good book.
I really don't have another book to compare this to. This is my first YA novel. This was easy listening and good storyline.
Yes, I usually try to reserve my books for walking or traveling. At onset, this was a tad slow and I thought here goes your typical adolescent whining dramas but was greatly impressed with the development. I saw some of the highlights coming, but it was still good to hear them. I liked the narration of the teen’s voice and the separation of the gender voices. I also liked that it dealt with relevant topics such as rape, bonding, trust, death, anger, etc. Great book and I look forward to future works such as this from the author. My favorite characters were Jacqueline (JW), Erin, Lucas(LM), Benji and Professor Heller.
Either I have been brainwashed or this was that much better written. Reviews from reviewers I follow enjoyed this book&I gave it a chance. This book is really good. Better written characters with more going on than just their hormones. I give the narration a 10. But the winning key is the writing, the setting, the smart sharp dialog, and a man that any woman could have dreamed of loving. Wow....thanks everyone this one was great!
I was hooked from the begining and could not stop listening.
Tara did a good job with bringing out the emotional moments.
I recommend this book wholeheartedly.
Love this site! I have a very busy job, so listening to audio books enables me to keep up on great stories!
It's up there.
Yes indeed. Luckily I have a job where I am able to do that.
Some heavy subject manner that was handled well. A witty, wonderful heroine, and a seriously dreamy knight in shining armor. And even better, she saved him right back. I highly recommend this book.
"Easy" has likeable characters and deals with the not so easy topic of rape. Very well done and great narration!
I love this book, you must listen for 1 hour and then your hooked you shouldn't be able to turn it off. I listen to the whole book twice 2 days in a row. I hope the author make it a series because the characters are so loveable.
I want to kiss a man with a lip ring. Lol!!!
The final scene. Don't want to ruin the ending. However, it was worth the wait.
It made me laugh and blush.
Serious material and a fun read.
Very enjoyable. There were some disturbing scenes of sexual violence, but overall it was a good story and I am glad I listened.
Surprisingly yes. I found myself listening for a lot longer stretches than I thought I would.
