This story didn’t have witches and warlocks, or vampires and werewolfs. It didn’t have lords and ladies, or a perfect billionaire obsessed with a stupid annoying woman. It had humor, romance, and drama, all in a nice mix with regular people. The story was very intense at times – disturbing because it was realistic, but very good. The female character had a brain, and wasn’t a compulsive liar or a complete fool like almost every female character in modern romance books. I knew I liked her when she blurted out the truth about missing class to her professor. I am a mature female, but I listen to all types of books. I tried City of Bones because of the buzz about the movie, but it didn’t work for me. This story was an unexpected pleasure and I liked the characters a lot. I have downloaded the other books by this writer.
Just a book fool.
Easy is one HOTT read. Nothing super spectacular and I honestly didn't buy the "conflict" of the two main characters having a relationship. I 100% saw every "surprise" coming but you know what I did not care.
This book was enjoyable, sexy, and down right entertaining.
I am a book junkie...I read and enjoy a variety of stories, so please don't "define me" by one book or review! :)
I really enjoyed this book and became invested in the characters and the circumstances they dealt with. Well-written with likable characters who are not without their flaws but nevertheless make you feel for them as the story unfolds. I felt anger toward the "villian" and proud of how the main character stepped outside her comfort level, acquired some new skills and was determined not to be his victim. I really enjoyed Lucas, the way he treated her, and the way their relationship and love grew. The events and the main plot thread are on the more serious, mature end of the spectrum within young adult offerings, and author Tammara Webber pulls it off very well! I thought the narration was very good. Definitely recommend!
First of all, I want everyone who’s reading this review to be fully aware that a lot of content in this book is all about THE very things that I normally say absolutely NO to when reading a book. So, me giving this book 4 stars is pretty ginormous. Number one, I do not read Contemporary. Number two, I do not read anything that has Adult or New Adult content. And, lastly, I stay 100 feet away from anything that has to do with sexual assault. All of the peeps out there who have been trying to push me into reading this book really don’t know me too well. But even after saying all that, I actually quite enjoyed this book.
I listened to Easy on Audible on a road trip, and I only started listening to it because I was struggling to keep awake while listening to another book. I’m not going to tell you what other book I had to put on hold in order to listen to Easy, but I think everyone would die if they knew what book I set aside to listen to this one.
Anyways, the scene in the very beginning pretty much should have told me to run far, far away. But it didn’t frighten me as much as it normally would, and I was consumed into the writing style so that I kept on listening.
Easy was written with extremely well developed characters. Jacqueline is struggling with a previous breakup, then this horrible thing happens to her and then she grows into a very strong character throughout the story. Everything about Lucas is easy to fall in love with from his hot looks, to his funny, playful and protective personality. And then there are the several douchebag characters that were very well developed too.
Obviously, you can see that this book is full of all kinds of drama, so it’s a given that there would be a lot of tears shed while listening to this book. And yes, I sobbed! The best part of the story was the romance with Jacqueline and Lucas! The whole development of their relationship was extremely well done.
Absolutely! Good stories are even better the second time around! Listened to this book in one day. Excellent narrator and story. Pleasantly touches upon difficult topics, enhancing the story and relationships. Brings back college memories.
Not able to write here.
Yes, could not put it down.
The narrator had the perfect tone for a college aged student. She did a wonderful job with differentiating between the characters.
Young adult book, but easy and addicting listen.
Not reading a YA novel before, I would rate it about an 8 on my scale. Very good book.
I really don't have another book to compare this to. This is my first YA novel. This was easy listening and good storyline.
Yes, I usually try to reserve my books for walking or traveling. At onset, this was a tad slow and I thought here goes your typical adolescent whining dramas but was greatly impressed with the development. I saw some of the highlights coming, but it was still good to hear them. I liked the narration of the teen’s voice and the separation of the gender voices. I also liked that it dealt with relevant topics such as rape, bonding, trust, death, anger, etc. Great book and I look forward to future works such as this from the author. My favorite characters were Jacqueline (JW), Erin, Lucas(LM), Benji and Professor Heller.
Say something about yourself!
Either I have been brainwashed or this was that much better written. Reviews from reviewers I follow enjoyed this book&I gave it a chance. This book is really good. Better written characters with more going on than just their hormones. I give the narration a 10. But the winning key is the writing, the setting, the smart sharp dialog, and a man that any woman could have dreamed of loving. Wow....thanks everyone this one was great!
I love listening to audio books!
Easy is one of the best books I've ever listen to. I highly recommend this book. Its a book you will listen to over and over again.
I was hooked from the begining and could not stop listening.
Tara did a good job with bringing out the emotional moments.
I recommend this book wholeheartedly.
Love this site! I have a very busy job, so listening to audio books enables me to keep up on great stories!
It's up there.
Yes indeed. Luckily I have a job where I am able to do that.
Some heavy subject manner that was handled well. A witty, wonderful heroine, and a seriously dreamy knight in shining armor. And even better, she saved him right back. I highly recommend this book.
