I read the book in five hours and thought it was amazing. So well written and such a compelling storyline. middle books are often fillers, this was not. it was action packed and full of great stories that will link the two books on each side together. now I get to listen to it on audio which gives me another experience and I love to hear the story with another voice. especially as I'm female and English and the narrator is male and American! brilliant!
hard to directly compare books but there's shades of a lot of books, Logan's run comes to mind as does a number of other dystopians but for quality of writing, it is way out there.
I'm sure I'm not alone having a soft spot for Roar who gets some real ink time in this book, bless him and of course Perry and Aria are still adorable too.
a few actually but without giving away spoilers I will choose a benign one. the turtle falcon!
I very rarely post reviews, a book has to be rather special for me to gush about it.
I read book one a while ago and just felt lukewarm about it. There was nothing that I couldnt stand. The realms were interesting and some of the ideas but the story never had me sucked in so much that I "couldnt put it down". I feel the same way about book 2. Overall listening while driving was enough to entertain me but it wasnt something that I was dying to get back to every time I was in the vehicle. I wouldnt say dont read it but I would say dont expect a riveting story. Its a good in-between book.
Yes. It is a good story, though not as compelling as the first one.
He seemed to read most of the story with less expression than the narrator of the first book. I wish she had been able to read it this time, too. He had sort of a monotone compared to her. Perhaps that is why I did not like this story as much as the first book.
Rescuing the nephew and the other people. It was touching and suspenseful.
Please get the first narrator again for sequels.
I'm so ready to start the third book. As with the first one, it is predictable. I am still loving them. I love the characters and the story. Great series in my opinion.
loved it. I have read all three books four times. can't get enough. please make a movie.
I don't think so. This narrator soured the experience of listening to the story. I truly wish that the book one narrator, Bernadette Flagler, could have narrated this book as well.
Hostile, Book 4 in the After Light Saga, by Cameo Renae. Elements of the two dystopian books are similar.
Wrong for this
Will they come together stronger, or will they fall apart?
I am very disappointed in this narration. Goldstrom's vocals are a disservice to Rossi's incredible book.
1st book was great - got me hooked - 2nd book even better. about to start the 3rd book. I love the characters - most of them. Hess & Sable are typical bureaucratical asses wanting everything for themselves - thinking they know what is best for "the people"
Which tells me the author has written the characters well.
Now to the 3rd book.
Truly enjoying this book series... But I miss the original narrator. The pauses in this author's narration were so long in between chapters that i constantly looked back at my phone to see if it had gone off or if someone was calling me. It became unbelievably irritating to the point where it was a distraction.
Way better than the first book, the Narrator was able to bring more feeling to the story, the first book seemed struggled... this one was more susinct.
This original story was engaging and full of excitement. i found myself sitting in my car well past arriving at my destination to see what happened next. While being a story about teenagers, it lacked the obnoxious angst which usually accompanies the young adult genre.
