Narrated by Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy, The Forgotten is approximately 12.5 hours of listening. What’s not to like? Baldacci has produced a number of great stories since he hit the jackpot with his breakout novel, Absolute Power in the late nineties. Fifteen years later and he’s still pumping out a new novel at least once a year. The Forgotten has been in my queue for a few years and it is part of a series. The lead, John Puller, is a tough-guy-combat-veteran type A character that doesn’t hesitate to kill the bad-guy. But, he has a well concealed gentle heart, especially when his sexy boss is in the picture.
There are a ton of reviews and the author summary is a good synopsis. The uniqueness of this story is the fact that it gives us a peek into the private life of Puller and his childhood. If you like the Puller series, this one fits right in and you’ll enjoy.
Can’t say enough about the narration - McLarty and Cassidy are just great, smooth transitions. Worth a listen!
Don't listen to the negative reviews. I have listened to the entire series (3 books to date) ... I skipped this one at first due to the reviews. Very glad I decided to get it!
Puller is at it again but he doesn't have the Army to back him up. It was mystery, drama, murder all rolled into one very good story. Some of the characters could have benefited from a little buffing out but over all it was great. The only flaw I found was that the ending was a little predictable. I was disappointed when I figured out who, what, and why long before the story was over. I still recommend the book because it was fun and the subject matter should be brought to the attention of the public.
I didn't read the print version.
John Puller was my favorite character. He is both a no-nonsense warrior and also one who is kind to kids and animals.
I liked it when Puller took out 6 men single-handedly with the giant taking out the other 2.
This was one of the best Audible productions I have listened to. Well done. It was like listening to a play.
awesome story and the narrators are the best. They made this great story come to life! David Baldacci is one of my favorite authors. Ron McLarty is John Puller!
