A good story is something that makes life feel... enriched by having experienced it.
The first Baldacci series I listened to was Will Robie, so it was hard for others like King or Decker to live up to the experience of Will Robie. Puller has finally accomplished what others lacked by bringing the same perfect mix of likeable guy, epic heroism, and stoic justice to a character. I rated the first Puller book but didn't leave a review. Now, after rabidly consuming the next in the series, I think it's safe to say that Robie - while not relinquishing the top spot - must budge over a bit and share my favorite Baldacci character spot with John Puller... and Puller's Dad may just help Puller overcome in the end and take that spot from Robie.
Obviously, I believe if you love the Will Robie series, Puller won't let you down. ...and I do like McCarty reading me a story again!
Rich characters with personalities that are unique and interesting but unpredictable at all the key moments. In short, both the bad & good guys keep the reader guessing...which is so much fun!
Loved the story line & ending- favorite character: Maco. I thought about the lead man from Macheyyi when I saw Maci in my minds eye. Very enjoyable story on a sad but all to familiar, & horrible goings on in this & other countries!
These narrators bring Baldacci's words to life. This duo is unstoppable! For me the narration solidifies the story that much more. Mr. Baldacci please get this duo back together.
