I listened to it twice. I love the heroics of the main character and his associates. . Puller loves his father who is suffering from dementia. Puller keeps regular contact with an imprisoned brother. Puller also loves animals. How Puller utilizes his military experience and training to solve the death of his aunt is the main premise of the story.
OMG, this so similar to Lee Child's Jack Reacher character that I had to remind myself that this story is about John Puller who does have a relationship with his relatives. Even the narrators' voices are similar. Not sure how this is allowed to happen, but I feel fortunate to have a wealth of stories to read.
I like both characters. I guess the authors, publishers and attorneys will work it out.
This book is fast paced, guaranteed to keep you on your toes. Well written, excelente story, the caracteres are almost real, the narrator did an outstanding job - well done.
Once again Baldacci delivers a compelling story that was fun to read. Slightly slow beginning but the pace picked up and I stayed up until 2am listening because I could not put it down. Unique storyline such was fun.
Sound effects are inappropriate, disconcerting, distracting, and seriously detract from the performance. Listening to a book puts the story in your imagination and few come with musical accompaniment. The readers are very good, let them do their job, please.
Much improved from 1st book in Puller Series. Couldn't get enough. Excellent exciting action scenes. Enjoyed female one star general character. Narrators were excellent, as usual. Enjoyed the added music and sound effects.
