I have recommended this book to several friends. It is a very good book, great story line and good characters. Can't wait to see where the story goes
Danni was my favorite character, because she's a young girl that has a lot of power, and seeing how seeing how she deals with it in the new world.
Dancer, Phil used the perfect voice for this character.
Action! Adventure! An Ice Monster!
Natalie Ross does a fantastic job of bringing KMM's Dani O'Malley to life. I also read the book and really enjoyed it. The narration and chemistry between Natalie Ross and Phil Gigante 's characters, however; makes this audible book a must listen. I have read/listened to all of KMM's books and her writing just keeps getting better(which can't be said for a lot of authors). The descriptions of AWC Dublin are so good that I can almost see them through Dani's eyes. The dialogue is even better. I loved this story and can't wait for the next book. Don't let this one pass you by!
I loved every bit of the book
There are many memorable moments but my fav would be the part when the boys are trying save Dani and they are or almost naked.
Great!! This was my first audiobook and I actually liked it.
I would reccommend this book to anyone who has been following the whole series. Which is great.
The ending! Leaves you wanting more!
Yes, they are very good together and always capture the essence of the books.
Yes, but no such luck.
I'm a HUGE fan of Karen Marie Moning and Phil Gigante's narration. I went to the signing and bought the book - but quickly succumbed and bought the audio book also and then listened to it. I wasn't disappointed. I'm not a huge Natalie Ross fan and she did the majority of the narration. But, Gigante and his grasp of different accents and the growl tones of the Alpha males in this series eclipsed it.
I was worried about Ross' narration of Dani because her tone in the Shadowfever books was very juvenille, but she did soften Dani in ICED and I was pleased with the turnout. The story is also top notch. I was also worried about how Karen Marie Moning would handle this Dani spin-off and I was pleased. KMM is a genius. Please go back and listen to the Fever series books first though. While this is a spin-off and could technically be read without partaking in Mac & Barron's story - you don't want to miss out on it. The Fever Series is on of the best Paranormal/Urban Fantasy series I've ever read.
The Series, this story, the narration all comes together as the perfect listen. I am obsessed by the Highlander and Fae Series - and can't wait for the next book and chapter in the Dani MEGA O'Malley story. Love the way she explores a new world AWC and the teasing of various relationships.
Too many to name and dont want to give any spoilers!
Anytime the men square off and fight over Dani
To the review prude freaking out over Dani's age; Have you read the whole Series? If not, you need too, for perspective. And really, you are wigging out over a 14yr old exploring her feelings and attractions and are surprised men are attracted to her? Geez-I'm not so old that I don't remember fourteen but you must be. Yet you don't seem to mind the fact she's been carrying a sword and KILLING since age 9 and I find that interesting. I believe experiences shape a person, not their age. We all know people over 40 that lack the common sense & maturity of others at age 14 yr. In particular, a fictional girl abandoned as a child, feeding & fending for herself, facing & killing monsters, super human strength & intelligence, who was also touched by the Grey Woman (who obviously aged her)! So leave KMM to do her fictional magic and don't force her into changing directions.
Yes I would recommend anything written by Karen Marie Moning. Absolutely creative world with amazing characters.
Don't want to give anything away but love the humor.
Yes and they are amazing as ever.
Start with book one in the Fever series.
must read: darynda jones, Karen moning, Ilona Andrews, kim harrison, gena showalter, Karen chance, patricia briggs, jeaniene frost ,L taylor,
i would recommend this book! it is so much fun, the types of fae are creative and interesting. there is action, some humor, great tension, the narration is fantastic.
it is a continuation of characters from the Fever series. FANTASTIC series, you could read this book alone but there would be a little something missing, you should get the Fever series, it's worth starting there. There is significant back story, the first in the Fever series is good but they get better and better as you go, leaving you dying waiting for the next. i know this series Iced will be the same. it tied up part of the story but there is a cliff hanger at the end! Can't wait to see how Danni grows and what she'll do next!
OMG!! SOOO MUCH! Phil Gigante's voice has been described as eargasmic...i really agree. EXCELLENT narration, Natalie Ross was very good too. you can tell the difference between all the female characters and she brought Danni's sass to life.
just hungry for the next book
i do have to point out that the lead female is only 14, she has a lot of life expierience that makes her a mega awesome warrior and seem older. i was slightly disturbed by the sexual interest other characters had for her. The best part is because of her age she pretty much didn't notice the interest, especially at first, and really had no interest of her own, was more about the kicking but and beginng mega awesome, no time for funny business!! love her character.
Funny, Angsty, Sexy
I would compare it to Darkfever because, just like Mac, Dani always finds humor even in the direst circumstances
The Dani "vibrating" scene
it made me laugh a lot, Dani is just such a great character, full of life, at times child-like, and others mature beyond her years, but she is so witty and fun!
Dani, a favored character in the prior series enters into puberty all alone in a city destroyed from the walls falling and the demons running loose in her beloved city. Estranged from Mac, and still fighting the good fight against evil, Dani tries to protect her old friends and enemies, while negotiating feelings no 14 year old should have. Karen Marie has continued to hit a grand slam providing us with a new story line on her old story that leaves us waitting and wanting for more.
