I am a big fan of Phil Gigante and kept trying to give this book a shot, but the whole thing with grown men lusting after a pre-teen was a huge turn off for me. Actually, anything about Dani was a big turn off for me. Anything else done by Phil I'll listen to, but not this.
I don't even think this book is in the proper genre. It is suppose to be a romance novel, but it really reads more like young adult fiction. Sure, there are a few saucy details now and then, but nothing that I would honestly think belongs to the romance section.
The narrators are the only reason I listened to as much of the book as I did. They are very talented folks and I kept hoping that the story would get better if I just stuck with it, but it never happened.
Dani. I know the story is about Dani and the work she is doing, but she isn't what I was expecting or even having to deal with a teenager giving the reader life lessons about the world. I don't think anyone wants to listen to a teenager act all knowing about things they are just discovering. Not to mention that I am really not into pedophilia. Age difference is a nice plot twist, but not when one of the characters is 14.
I really like Karen Moning's work and Phil's performance, but this book just isn't for me.
The narrators are terrific!
Dancer saving Dani
If you like author KMM, you will enjoy this one.
Totally enjoyed the Dani O'Malley character. She is young, innocent, and totally a hero of the people. Lately all the books in the “Paranormal Fantasy” genre are falling closer and closer to the “Romance” genre. This book is very entertaining without all the romantic dialogue.
If this book is any indication, K Moning is delivering a spin-off series that is captivating, entertaining, and “Fecking unbelievable” in the words of Dani O'Malley.
If you are into a book just for the steamy romantic ride, then this book might not be for you. However if you are into a book for the author ability to deliver a well-developed, extremely entertaining story, then you might enjoy the story of Dani O’Malley.
I have listened to this book twice and can't wait for the next Dani O'Malley book.
Phil Gigante and Natalie Ross, what can I said, congratulation to a job well done!!!!
hilarious, entertaining, enjoyable
Well that would be hard to say because Dani "Maga" is just unforgetable.
when Dani almost died
The Reading Audiologist
I've listenced to Phil Gigante on other books and his voice is always easy to understand and well modulated so that I'm not constantly turning the volume up and down. Natalie's voice was very difficult and even with using what I know about speech intelligibility and important frequencies for speech I was still nearly blasting my hearing out to understand her. Her Irish accent left much to be desired for me. I returned the audiobook and will stick with my kindle version for now.
I just love this book. I can't wait for the next one to come out. I love Dani in the first series and I love her in this one. The narrators for this series are fabulous also.
The snarky remarks. Sometimes the characters down right made me laugh out loud.
Their voices and interpretations of the each characters personalities. I LOVED the narrators, they did an awesome job!
At first, you'll want to give up on this story. You'll question the author writing about a 14 yr old, hold on and keep listening. It makes sense and you'll not regret it!
Iced ranks up in the top 5% of all the audiobooks I've listened too thus far.
The story was unpredictable and the lead character was very entertaining
Dani is my favorite character. She is very colorful and strong.
Duh! I'm a superhero!
I can't wait for the other two books in the series.
Over and over in the years to come... It is on my favorite list
Dani Of course. DUDE
I went back and listened to the first five books of this series... But Iced was the best and I can't wait till the next one comes out....
Probably. Enjoyed Dani's story style once I quit expecting it to sound like Mac's from the Fever series.
Dani touching the frozen scene & nearly dying.
