The first book was awesome, the second, not so. The plot took a turn that made no sense, and the parents were supposed to be engineers, yet they had no concept of intellectual property.
Didn't have one
The Vegas arc.
I almost always have a book going.
I have enjoyed this series very much. There's something of a unique twist going on with this series.
The least interesting aspect is definitely the high school and parents storyline which is why book one was so....I don't want to say bad, but boring maybe. As soon as the author did away with that part of the storyline the book became more interesting.
I wanted to see where the story was going with the alien tech and alien conflict that downed the ships. That is basically the only reason I went on from book one. I can say happily that the author does a much better job in creating conflict and action in this book. It still wasn't a hardcore drama, but the sci fi does ramp up a notch along with the action.
Again, this series is probably not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but its an okay sci-fi story. This book graduated several levels above the previous book so I think I will go ahead and see the conlusion to the series - or the next book at least - since I don't know if that one will end in a cliff hanger or not.
Avid audible listener for over 10 years.
Listened to # 1. Bought #2 and cannot stop listening. Still no sleep. This series is addicting. Great for teens
Heather, she was excellent in maintaining character.
MacLeod Andrews did very good job with the narration.
I'll read anything good. I'm easy that way.
Crazy Columbian Drug Lord? Check.
This isn't so much a 2nd book, as it is the rest of book 1.
This is scifi to keep you up late at night. Completely original and highly adictive.
This book followed up book 1 nicely and had enough variation in geography so it wasn't just a repeat of the first. It advanced the story and kept things interesting enough for me to want to read the third.
The story, beginning in the Second Ship, takes off again with almost no chance to catch your breath! Will our three protagonists defeat the evil doctor?
This is a pretty good story. It is well written and moves along nicely. The story has a couple of unexpected turns and doesn't clutter up the plot with a bunch of junk. Good character development.
Immune kept you guessing, as in the first book. The cliff hanger at the end of the book is a good lead in for the third book.
