Great storyline and narration! Was sucked into the story immediately.
Several, but it was towards the end when it was revealed who done it. Was totally surprised and why!
Did an excellent job of bringing the characters to life.
No, since I listen to audio while I commute.
I did have trouble leaving my car to go in to work and the same to go in my home.
One of those that if I were reading it would keep me up all night.
Very compelling story to listen too.
At the very top! I was very into the story found it hard to stop listening .
The little girl . She was very sweet when she would show up
Yea he did very well
Refreshing, intriguing and romantic.
What I enjoyed most about the storyline was that you could virtually replace the two main characters with male and female; two females; or interracial couple. The point being that LOVE was the ultimate connection and the growth of their love for one another AND the love story was told in unison with a murder mystery. A nice blend the story and characters.
Matthew's voice was a little to mature/older gentlemen sounding for the character.
Don't worrry no spoilers here...I did both -CRY @ the funeral...how touching with the flag and LAUGH the sister and sister-in-law were a hoot!
If you shy away from lovemaking m/m you may not enjoy this book but if you are open to LOVE for all genders, and a mystery to boot -- I BELIEVE you will enjoy listening to this story.
It wasn't the best thing I've ever read, but I enjoyed it. All the people touting Jack LeFleur as the narrator of the century aren't far off. His men sound manly and his women don't squeak or whine. He was the brightest part of this book.
genuine book worm
Yes, Its a very good example of a well done m/m genre story with elements of paranormal, romance, mystery, thriller and just the right touch of smexy.
I love m/m genre. I think this is this authors first novel, at least in this genre and its great.
An engaging story, 2 likeable, simpathetic MC's. Aspects of paranormal, mystery and romance.
I just loved the character of Kiernan.
The narrator was amazing, did a fantastic job of separating out character voices, and was just flat out sexy with Kiernan's character.
Will be looking for more narrated by him.
People who believe in mediums.
Another M/M romance
Never heard other performances. He was one of the better narrators I've heard.
Other than the narration, no redeeming qualities.
This book was an apologist novel for psychics who like to meddle in police business. I would have been fine with a fantasy novel, but this was a little too close to reality. The protagonists went out of their way to do the things that mediums are criticized for. The pushing themselves on a bereaved family, the vague answers, all the manipulations a psychic likes to do. There was no police work and if the bad guy hadn't confessed in front of reliable witnesses, then he would have walked. Stupid book.
The audio certainly enhanced a great story. I bought whispersync and I found I preferred to listen to Jack LeFleur. He brought out the characters so well. It's typical of this genre that narrators are either self-conscious or try too hard. But Jack made everything sound natural.
There are great moments throughout but the best remains in the beginning when Matt first meets Abby and she sadly shows him where to find her.
This book is perfectly balanced between it's supernatural plot and it's romantic plot. Both are given full attention without sacrificing the other. Diana Copland delivered a book I couldn't put down, and I will be looking for more.
A different story, a new reader, it was terrible.
This started off in the very early stages just okay, I was looking forward to a ghost story. The reader was irritating from the start, but I'm willing to put up with that if the story good. Well, it progressed into an unbelievable gay sex/love story (and not a very good one at that!), leaving the ghost part as secondary and even that was very predictable. I think if I had this in book form I could have at least skipped the cringe worthy sex/love scenes more easily than on my mp3 player, but there again I probably would have just binned the book a third of the way in.
All of them
Waste of a credit
The story was for the most part very well written and developed.
My favorite character in this story was Matt. He felt very much like a regular guy to me, very personable and relateable.
I think he is one of the best Narrators that I have heard! He was very good! He gave the characters the perfect voices.
Some parts of the book made me laugh, Kiernen was funny.
This was a very good read/listen. I thoroughly enjoyed the progression of the story and relationship between the main characters. My only gripe with this story is how Abby's realization and acceptance of what happened to her came too easily and it just seemed to wrap up the story to make it a happy ending. I would love to get a sequel to this, to see the progression of Matt and Kiernen's relationship.
