So far this is one of my favorites...I absolutely LOVE Robert Petkoff reading these books and as long as K.C. Keeps writing them and Robert Petkoff keeps narrating them I will keep buying them!!! I love all his different voices and accents and love the way I can distinguish between all the characters simply because of his voice changes!! LOVE LOVE LVOE LOVE LOVE THIS SERIES OF BOOKS AND LOVE LOVE LOVE Kresley Cole!!!!
I wish Robert Petkoff would narrate all romance novels!! Such a Sexy Voice!!!
I would listen to any of Kresley Cole's books more than once <3. They are full of suspense and the stories are very well written. I always find myself listening for hours because I want to know what was going to happen next!!
I enjoy reading/listening to stories about the Lykae Clan and the Vampires, but my favorite characters are the Valkyrie and Mariketa. I love their wittiness and how they've embraced the modern world :) They can be very funny.
Robert Petkoff is a great narrator. He individualizes the characters, bringing them to life.
I could've listened to this book in one sitting is I had the time.
I would recommend Kresley Cole's books for fans of this genre.
Just finished listening to Dark Needs at Nights Edge and loved it. I have already read and loved the entire IAD series but hearing it read by Robert Petkoff makes it even better. Robert does such an excellent job of making these characters come alive. I just wish that the whole series was already on Audiobook (and read by Robert Petkoff) so that I could listen to/experience them all again before the next book is released at the end of this month.
The amazing voices.
Every single book from this series is a "Can't go Wrong"! They all make you laugh out loud @ times thanks to clever writing & thanks to Nix while it also gets your blood pumping. I have read all in the series and each one is better than the last but Robert Petkoff truly brings them it life. Can't wait for the rest of the books to be on audio.
Sassy dialogue, humor, and a great reader are important to me.
oh yes as R Petkoff bring this story to life
when our hero fights so hard to keep our heroine alive
when the brothers are always fighting
this one is a tearful one. Makes you want a one true love if you do not have one
I can find a book to love in any genre -- a beautifully written classic, an interesting mystery or sci-fi, a trashy romance. Bring it!
STORY - (paranormal romance) Neomi is the ghost of a famous ballerina trapped in the home in which she once lived. Conrad is a vampire alpha male who is brought to her long-deserted estate to be held as a prisoner. Eventually they become romantically involved, but they have the small problem that she doesn't have a flesh-and-blood body. I liked Neomi and felt sorry for her situation, but I didn't like Conrad, although he was described as gorgeous, hunky and was ultra-devoted to Neomi. He was just too big and vicious for my taste. They were up against impossible odds but were determined to make their relationship work, so that aspect of the story was touching. Their sexual attraction was a long slow build that eventually culminated in a very lo-oo-oonnng explicit scene.
On the negative side, I thought much of the dialogue between the secondary characters was juvenile, almost like silly girl-talk among teenagers, and much of the action/magic toward the end made me think of super-hero cartoons.
PERFORMANCE - Wow, this narrator was really good. Great female voice for Neomi, great accents (Russian, French, Aussie) and his emotional angst for some of the sadder moments was awesome.
OVERALL - (Actual rating 2.5) Meh, it was okay. Be aware there is explicit sex and language.
I am in love with pararomance and am always trying to find new series with a great story and sizzling hot spots!
I love the fact that they both want each other... there is no fighting between the 2 to claim one another.
The fact that Conrad is trying to get through his madness... yet he maddens her in a different way completely.
He does so wonderful with all!
Indeed. And will listen to again!
Words I live by: Charm is a glow within a woman that casts a most becoming light on others~Jason Mason Brown
Robert Petkoff + Kresley Cole = Wonderful
Of course I love the romance integrated with paranormal theme.
He can make you completely forget your listening to someone reading to you and just enjoy the story,
Hot romance/Sci Fi we're so lucky to have Audible to feed our book addictions. I love walking my precious dog Sydney & listening to my books
Another great book to this fabulous series. I always enjoy her work. Many thanks Kresley Cole :)
I love that Conrad, who is a supposed evil vampire killer falls in love with the heroine. He is so sweet and loving to her. I like that Neomi loved her life and made no apologies about the way she lived..
I liked Conrad and Neomi equally. I felt that the depth of the characters was fleshed out so well.
If I had to pick one it would be Conrad, but Robert Petkoff does them all so well. His accents and expressions are spot on. He just seems to really get the story and characters.
Yes! I didn't want it to end. I want to go re-listen to the series (so far) again!
