No, because I found the reader a little silly when she tried to do the men's voices, as well as Stephanie's. She didn't sound at all like she was from New Jersey, which would have been fine, but coupled wit the fact that she tried so hard to sound like all of the men (from NJ or not) was a distraction for me & took away from the book
It is right up there with the other 18 Stephanie Plum novels. Love them
Maybe Janet Evanovich or me!
It made me laugh
Love all of Janet Evanovich's books-not just the Plum novels. She is a great writer
Love the voices, like listening to old friends
Laughing with Lula about her fast food diet
Again, great voices
Always love Lula, she steals the show for me
Best one in a long time. Stopped reading them for a while and tried this one just to see. Glad I did
The narrator did a good job with lula's voice. There were some funny lines.
On the downside, the voice of Stephanie was all wrong and having a female do the male voices just ruined the story. A woman saying "Babe" as ranger was unconvincing and detracted from the experience. Should've been two narrators since there are so many male characters.
Change the narrator.
I think the series may have gone everywhere it can. Maybe develop Lula as a character and venture off onto new materia.
would not pay for this audiobook. Probably OK as a book you read yourself.
I love listening to stories about Stephanie Plum -- but I don't like listening more than once. This book is no exception.
The plot is simple and funny -- but once I have listened, I already know what is happening. Time to move on!
Many of my other friends enjoy Evanovich -- thus I recommend all whenever I read or listen. Stories of this kind help to take the pressure off the end of the day, driving home -- and this is good!
I typically like driving while listening -- and all of a sudden the trip is not so long. Perfect!
Lorelei King does a great job of performing the characters. She typically reads stories from Evanovich -- I would expect no difference! The vitality that she brings to the characters is enigmatic!
No -- I like to listen to these kind of books across time -- It is easy to pick up after I have been involved in other projects. The material is light and easy to pick up where you left off.
If you have been reading the numbered series by Evanovich then, of course, you will purchase this one as I did. I liked the book and love the narrator, but the storyline is predictable and the book is less than 7 hours. Her first ones were a lot better. If you have not read the numbered series DO NOT start with this one - go to the beginning. Not much action in this one. The usual laughs and mishaps so I'd have to say it was good - just disappointed that they seem to be getting shorter and less interesting. I felt as though this one was pumped out to meet a deadline, but that Evanovich's heart wasn't in it. Spend the credit or wait till it goes on sale if you can.
MOre of the same as others in series - Stephanie needs to get another crazy job - Evanovich is a creative writer - but she should stick to this same genre and not go romantic as she has in past - those are BAD
I like culinary mysteries. That is how I got started. I also like fiction.
This is a good listen. Stephanie is in trouble again and cars are blowing up around her.
You can never be sure who will be captured and who will get away again and again.
When she books passage to Hawaii for a skip and his icon.
I hope Stephanie will finally figure out that she should marry Joe. She would be great as a pregnant bounty hunter.
The activities or Grandma and Lulu
I'm re-reading Hot Six and parts of it are similar but differenet
She did a very good job but Ranger and Morelli have different voices in my mind's ear and I am a very visual person so I will be buying the book to re-read.
Definitely Morelli and Ranger. Yum
I didn't like 17 very much but 18 was better. Whenever I need a good read for my psyche, I start at the beginning and re-read. They do wonders for my mental health
I always enjoy the Stephanie Plum books, and this was no exception. But there were no surprises, either. And after 19 books, there needs to be something new every now and again or it's going to get dull...
