I've read all the Stephanie Plum books and at this point I don't even expect them to be really good. There are good jokes and funny scenes but the plot never changes. In this book it was obvious what the crime was and who had done it early in the book and then spent the rest of the book feeling that the characters were incredibly dumb for not figuring it out.
However Lorelei King is extremely good at what she does. And at this point these books feel like comfort food. Not exciting and you certainly don't have to use your brains but in a way comforting.
I am on the young side of being older, but nonetheless - wiser.
I always enjoy her books - it's my "light" reading. I, like many, remained conflicted over which boyfriend is better (although it should be obvious), and it never ceases to amaze how many fixes she can get into and out of. Just fun!

Very enjoyable. Kept my attention. Kept me alert and laughing all the way through. Fun listen.
Ranger's car being blown up.
love to read, but don't have much time for reading for pleasure. That's why I love audible.
I'm still laughing.
Grandma Masur helping with the investigation.
If you are a fan of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum novels, this will not disappoint. It is the same story, but I enjoy a book that just makes me laugh sometimes. Can't wait for number 20!
Plum books are formulaic and are really just a fun way to pass the time. Ranking them against literary works of art would be unfair. As far as guilty pleasure formula books go though, Plum books are my favorite, and 19 is one of the better ones.
There is a slight break from formula in 19. We get a little more insight into Stephanie and there was a brief moment when I thought the author would add a little more depth to the Ranger character.
It's always grandma.
Tiki. He told me to write that.
Among the books in this series, this was a pretty good one.
The hospital and clinic scenes were very well drawn.
She is so good as Stephanie that I'm sure we can't imagine anyone else doing the reading. She captures the flavor of the books and all the characters, including the men. (Ba-a-abe!)
How about Ranger and Morelli?
Yes, it is totally entertaining, a laugh out loud listen!!!
Very good interpretation, the voices very good.
I love the humor, I really enjoy both reading and listening to the books!
First time audible user. I thought listening to this book rather than reading is great! It passes the time when stuck in traffic. Now the book itself was boring. The same storyline...car blowing up, intense emotional feelings between Moreli and Stephanie or Stephanie with Grainger. It was just getting boring. There is no suspense, mystery, funny or storyline.
No. I will read other genre.
No...the movie they did called Money on #1 series did not do so well either.
Sure. It's worthwhile if you like Janet Evanovich.
I can't remember. It's been a while since I listened to it.
She's just a good character builder.
Probably not. Too much happens in the book.
