I love this story of stephanie plum. This one kept me guessing what was going to happen next. and I love the way we are left hanging with Ranger wanting a "date". Is marriage in the future or not? I guess I will have to wait for the next book. Can't wait!!!!
Lorelei does such a great job of keeping the voices of each character separate and continues the voice book after book. there are times when Lorelei is reading that she really does not have to tell you who is talking because you already know. Listening to her I feel sometimes like I am watching a movie not listening to a book.
I always enjoy listening to these books. Lorelei King is an amazing narrator. Very few narrators are in the same class that she is. Plus the books are always funny. Unfortunately, it's 19 versions of the same book. So while it's great fun and lots of laughter, there's nothing new there. So, if you're a Stephanie Plum fan, listen to the book and enjoy King's work but don't expect any great revelations.
I simply love love love this series. Funny, heartwarming, full of tangled messes that Lula and Stephanie get into, and who doesnt love grandma?! Crack up, laugh out loud funny.
Stuffing the dwarf Briggs into the delivery box of a building so they could break and enter without breaking anything.
Keep um coming! Please make a TV show about this character!
I have an eclectic taste in books. I move from Jodi Picoult to Gillian Flynn. From Ken Kesey to Janet Evanovich. If it is good, I'll read it
Lula has the most awesome sense of humor of a fictional character I've read in a long time. I found myself laughing out loud often.
The plot was not edge-of-your-seat nail biting stuff. However, I was thoroughly entertained (so much so that I spent every free minute I had listening to this story over three days).
I've never listened to any of the narrator's performances but I can assure you Lorelei King delivers a spectacular storytelling performance.
I was moved to laughter by the episode on the nude beach...did I mention Lula is absolutely hilarious?
I'm a heterosexual guy and I found this book extremely entertaining! I recommend this to men and women who like mystery, memorable characters, and a good laugh.
I enjoy these books they are like potato chips you can’t eat just one but my problem this time is I think they are getting a bit stale, yes they still make me giggle and I love Lula & there wasn’t enough grandma and Stephanie still can’t make a decision between Morelli & Ranger and the first car to explode was within the first 5 minutes of the book, I kind of felt like ok now that’s out of the way on with the formula.
Don’t get me wrong I still enjoy these books and yes I will listen to the next one but I think it’s time for some forward movement this has started to feel like the same book over and over and if that’s all it’s going to be then I will go back and listen to these over and over because they are my feel good, get out of a funk, need something funny, go to books.
So why am I making it sound like I didn’t enjoy it? Because I would like to see some changes some growing up, some character building such as I learned something from my mistakes type of storyline or a final conclusion to the triangle that is a huge basis this book is based on. I truly believe she can still have both men in her life but she needs to choose which one…well I guess if she chooses Morelli her and Ranger can still be friends but not sure how well that would work if she chose Ranger not sure Morelli would be as forgiving. But still I think eventually it would all work out and I think it would help give the forward movement that this series needs to move it ahead.
As always Lorelei King is the voice of these characters her narration is like coming home to see old friends. This series & Lorelei’s narration is like comfort food!
3 ½ Stars
it has a great storyline
yes just seeing what mess they get into
she is the best reader
both stephanie and lula are great together but they are all wonderful to listen to
I really love the characters in this series but it is getting to be the same old stuff. Nothing exciting is happening to change their lives. Maybe it's time to quit, I'm not sure I'll be purchasing the next book. I think I could figure out what happens from the book summary next time. Very disappointed!
I've listened to (or read) all 19 books in this series, starting with One for the Money. Notorious Nineteen didn't disappoint! Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum seems to be edging slightly closer to resolving her difficulty choosing between the two hunks (Ranger and Morelli) but she still has her "issues" (cars blowing up, near death experiences, crazy eating habits) she should probably try to overcome before settling down. This book was on par with many of the past episodes and caused me to laugh out loud several times while listening. How many books can do that? If you have kept up with this series, definitely get this book. If you are new to this series, start from the beginning. Either way, enjoy!
It was exactly like the last 3 books...BORING and nothing surprised me or made me laugh.
Seems like a rehash, same ole story. Nothing new happened
Nothing...Ms King rocks! Her performance is dead on.
Nothing! I honeslty do not know W-H-Y I bother! Same OLD story different day. The only thing different about this book is that Ranger had more than two lines.... He had 5 in this one.
No. I am so over it. Flop #2.
disappointment. Janet maybe its time to give up stephanie plum series and start a Ranger one?
Move on to a different book. This one lacks substance.
