Immigration lawyer in Kansas City. I like Character driven dramas, fantasy (monsters, magic and witches oh my!) and coming of age stories. Favs include: The Book Thief, The Game of Throne series, Harry Potter Series, Dresden Files, Nightside series, anything by Neil Gaimen, 100 Years of Solitude.
I am totally addicted to this series and I think my favorite part may be when Oberon talks. It is exactly how I would imagine a dog communicating, well maybe a little more intelligently than I imagine, but I love this particular insight to the story. Atticus makes me want to spend 12 years learning arcane languages and spells to be a Druid too.
action love awesome
Iron Druid - he rocks
when the apprentice makes a move
Love the humor and characters throughout this series - can't wait for book 6!
I am a technical software executive with a passion for fantasy, self improvement and action literature. As life forced itself on me I found less and less time to read so when I found audible it was a great match! I listen mostly in the car or while walking the dog. I can tell I'm listening to a great book when I find myself volunteering to run errands or walk the dog for the third time that day.
To me this series is like McDonald’s, I know its complete crap inside but dang if it isn’t amazingly good. This book leaves you craving more, including the insatiable desire for more Oberon, Granuaile and fries. I love how this series tells of the most fantastic and unbelievable events or people in a sarcastic, very modern and matter of fact tone.
Trapped continues the series in the normal grand and epic way including a strange combination of elves, vampires, gods, hell and sex. I love Atticus's apprentice Granuaile and while she seems a little over done she is completely awesome. Oberon, the dog, is very entertaining but has become a little too very intelligent for me. This book also includes a lot more info about Tuatha De Danann and the dark elves (who appear and clown around a little). Luke Daniel narration is perfect and makes the whole story fun to listen to.
Unfortunately this book ends with lots of loose ends and didn’t close as tightly as previous books in the series. Because of a short introduction and the loose ends at the close, the book doesn’t stand on its own. If you’re following the series this book is a must listen otherwise start listening to the series with book one (Welcome to McDonald’s, may I take your order please?).
I have always been a reader, until my 3-hr a day round trip commute. Now, I am a listener - and I am hooked on audio books!
This one was really good. Oberon, as always, is the absolute best character. I am grateful that we didn't have to read all 12 years of apprenticing, and just went to the good stuff. Hell is gruesome, and Loki is demented - I just really appreciate all the thought that goes into all the different God/Goddess/Mythological creature descriptions. I also liked the bit of philosopy where Atticus delves into why Granuaile has such a problem with the Irish Gods (they are more people-like in a pantheon, while monotheists have a more 'perfect' God). And I adore Oberon's love of all meat, especially sausages! Can't wait for Hunted to come out. This series is a MUST GET!!
I enjoy this time and consider it well spent exercising my imagination. I now have these other worlds to tell you about. I have value.
It was a little different as in that it seemed like another section in the life story more than its own adventure. It was its own adventure though . Maybe I was hoping for more. The idea was good. . I still gave it a 5 star rating though. I was not unsatisfied . Its been too long between books for me and I got into some other worlds. Luke Daniels still tells it great.Kevin still planned it well. Read it . Tell em Ronnie sent you.
How he brings magic into our world and not a fictional world
Anything with Oberon
Laugh and excited
In my opinion, a good story evokes emotion. It'll make me laugh, angry, or cry. But it can't just be words on a page. It has to do something
Good job Luke! Good job Kevin! Okay this story was not as good as the other books in this series. However, I'm in love with the narrator's voice. Talented with all the different voices. He makes the book live.
