I never write reviews, but I'll make an exception for this audiobook. I was held captive by the story, the characters and the narration. I couldn't wait to find out what would happen next. Wonderful! One if my all time favorites.
I kept thinking to stop this long long book and really wish that I had. The reader was fine but the story would have been improved by being half as long.
Boredom and then impatience.

I'm not usually surprised by plots and this one got me a couple times. there was a point in the book when it all seemed so sad that I didn't want to keep reading but I'm so glad I did!
This book is amazingly wonderful! I would have never guess the ending. Not a predictable read at all. I'm going to miss the lovable characters in this book. I just love the book and the story in it! Thank you for writing it!
I LOVE BOOKS!
You will not find a more deep, suspenseful, story of love, loss, desperation, forgiveness and friendship in a time of war. Nor will you find all of that with an amazing mystery that in the end, will blow your wig off.
loved the detail...but to a point. sometimes repetitive, could have been shorter. Excellent stormy and savor end the "twists" and surprise at the end. Sad, lovely, imaginative
I thought it started a bit slow and the story going back-and-forth and time of the two women's lives through me at first. However the more you get into the story the more it grips you. It is riddled with all sorts of emotions and has a lot of twists and turns, some I never saw coming! Well worth listening to the narrator does a wonderful job.
This was a great story with characters you could both relate to and care about. Told in stages, this story kept me wanting to keep listening the entire time. While the mystery was the driving force of the story, it wasn't necessarily the most important part. Relationships and choices are common threads woven throughout this tale, causing readers to examine parallels between characters and themselves. It wasn't one of those mysteries where you get to the end and you think, "How was I supposed to figure that out?" Kate Morton lead the readers to put the pieces together while the characters were still searching for clues. Lovely story of love, loss, and discovery.
