I am loving this series! Can't wait to listen to the next three! Her sarcasm is awesome, the story lines are captivating and the narration is one of the best I've heard-I have listened to a lot of books! My only complaint out of all four of these so far and I am sure it will continue to spill over into the next 3 books... The character and certain experiences recapping. This is annoying. I feel it's a waste of time to re-explain who a certain character is in each book. Tough $hit if you don't know who she is referring to-don't start a series in the middle or skip around. It's THAT simple. Other than that, this series is fantastic!
As usual, Lorelei King did an amazing job as narrator! She breathes life into every character. Darynda Jones is a true storyteller. Brilliantly crafted, complexity within each of her main characters lured me in, Charley's wandering inner dialogue and smart quips kept me entertained, and the hot romance with Reyes had me on the edge of my seat. On to the next one.... I can't stop now, but I dread the impending day when I reach the last book and actually have to wait until the next is written. I don't think I have the required amount of sanity needed to wait that long...
Hello! I recently became addicted because of my boyfriend! I work long days where I can by chance listen to music and now books. :)
I have become addicted to these books in such an unhealthy way! I'm finding reasons to actual clean, cook and take long walks just to hear what happens next! It makes me grateful that I work from home!!
I've listened to a lot of audio books. I have no way to rate the best but I'd say this book rates as one of the best.
I like the way Charley has evolved. Her snarkiness is about the same and she still has a knack for pissing people off but her heart is expanding and she is learning about forgiveness. She is also learning more about her powers as the grim reaper. Rock on Charley!
I have listened to her other performances and have never been dissatisfied. She has a great voice that never grates on your nerves and she performs each character well.
Yes. At the end of the book when her and her father begins to understand each other better and she finally begins to forgive him. Very touching.
This was a great book. I would recommend it to anybody that enjoys this type of book. But start at the beginning with book one so you can better understand Charley and what she has been through.
yes, I thought it was well written, and quiet different than normal supernatural. No vampires in this one.
The whole concept of this series is interesting
She is a great narrator, I have never been let down yet by one of her books.
good job, and a fun read
Ditto...from previous review!!! Yet another Fantastic read! Can't put it down! More..more..more...Ready for book 5!!!!! The narrator, Lorelei is still super awesome! Brings the characters to life!!!
Charley is just irreverent and funny. Such a sassy Grim Reaper
Usually the sex scenes
Angel and Strawberry (scary kids)
nothing extreme, just light entertainment
I should be getting bored, but I'm not yet. That is telling.
Charley is really affected by what happened at the end of the previous book. A lot of times (in other series) when something terrible happens to the main character it's barely mentioned in the next book and things go back to normal. Darynda Jones did not do this. This book showed us how Charley was having issues getting passed what happened to her. She was scared and vulnerable and this is a side of Charley that we haven't seen before. She was still funny and sarcastic, but this book made her more realistic and human.
My name is Kira and I work as a librarian in utah. I love all kinds of books, but especially like fantasy and mystery.
Yes. The narrator just made the book for me.
Victoria Laurie's Ghost Mysteries, because it deals also with the dead and seeing/sensing them.
I have. This is one of her best. She always has great characters and unique voices.
I laughed at her spunkiness several times.
This series is wonderful! Full of mystery, comedy, romance and suspense! Who knew books about a grim ripper could be so witty!
