I could go on and on about the pain I experienced at the end of this novel, this final chapter of a lifelong quest. I'll spare you that and instead attempt to spare you a shared misery. Just DON'T. If you've read this far, stop now and end things in your head. Anything you create will be better than this drivel. If you're looking here to see if you want to read the series, it is a beautiful thing up until Jordan's death, and not bad right to this book. Then comes the worst cop out, bs, pitiful non-ending I've ever seen or imagined, just fair warning. Save yourself some pain.
Last 2 books of WoT where FANTASTIC!!! At times, series was dragging little bit and I felt like giving up... especially in second half, when I felt story was little dragging on; but, last two books were SOOOO GOOOD!!! I cannot express myself without giving some of the plot away... It was EPIC!
I cry every time Egwene dies *tear*. Sad to see my favourite character die, but the series was amazing, and this instalment will forever be my favourite book in the series.
Most people would find the term "fanfic" to be pejorative. Here I use it in the literal sense: that a fan of the series wrote fiction that was authorized and official.
That said, I also use the term fanfic to denote certain inconsistencies with this work compared to earlier ones written by only Robert Jordan.
When it comes down to it, this final volume of /The Wheel of Time/ is as much some form of fun as it is also some kind of closure. Don't purchase this based on hoping that it's anything else besides those two things.
Enjoy Scifi and select fantasy genre. Ender's Game is by far my all time favorite book.
For years I have read waiting for a story that would capture my interest so deeply I almost gave up. I am glad I found this series way after it was finished. I am not a patent person, I would have hated to wait each and every time for the new chapter.
The characters are rich and endearing. When I stood excited reading of the return of that loved Isidie I knew why I read/listen all 14 books.
As with many things that is enjoyable, it's sad to see it end, and Brandon Sanderson did an amazing job closing the story, with excellent narration from Kramer and Reading, who have only gotten better as the story progressed.
I appreciate what was began by another, but I truly am happy that it ended with this writer. I had begun to get annoyed with the lack of character development, with how every woman, at the basic level, all acted the same. But, I did not find this here. I found the women were actually becoming their own, and I found I enjoyed learning and seeing more development of other characters of all types. I found I truly was sad to have the story end so that I could no longer follow their journey.
If you were worried that Sanderson could not bring this epic journey to a glorious close, have no fear. You will not be disappointed with these last 3 books.
