I HATE this book so much it drove me crazy idk how I got through the end of it I honestly can't tell you how crazy this book is I'm usually the person who loves the HEA but for the life of me I want the two people in the horrible dysfunctional unhealthy relationship to just get the hell away from each other I get that the sex is hot but damn I need them to get a grip (yes I understand it's a book and it doesn't have to be realistic) there is so much unnecessary drama it's overwhelming to the point were I don't even like the characters anymore but as horrible as it is I'm sure I will read the next book just to put it to rest
The author spends too much time re-iterating their dysfunction and then too much time having her get upset over and over b/c he won't open up and seems to be doing shady things behind her back. She just ends up looking super pathetic and the story starts getting boring. Near the very end he finally opens up and you find out what the shady behavior was about. It would've been much more interesting if he opened up little by little or even all the way during the course of the story while still acting shady-ish. Also - if there was a hint of what he was actually doing were added through the story it would've been more interesting. I probably won't be continuing this series - there are plenty of audio books out there that i know i'll really like to waste my time with this series.
No, story gets redundant
performed very well. but gideon just comes off as a psychotic asshole and makes me angry to think that he is what women fantasize about. if he was a genuinely nice guy she wouldn't be interested. and why are all the nice guys in the book all gay? sets horrible expectations. Ok action but horrible stupid setup reads nearly identical to 50 shades of grey.
Loved it. I have listened to the series once and am on my second round.
As far as the story goes, it's pretty solid. I enjoy it. It's a little too "dirty" for my liking. Some of her descriptive word choices are a little much. It's also not very realistic as far as the things they say to each other, but alas, it's a book so I concede on that one. As far as the performance, I can't stand her. She doesn't put a lot of emotion into her voice (unless it's during a sex scene, in which she sounds like a phone sex operator), and tends to miss some of the proper feelings. Especially in the voice of Gideon. There are points where he mutters "Ava" that are supposed to sound amazed or full of love, and she makes it sound like a child being scorned. But, now that I've listened to the first two books in her voice, I have to continue on because that's how I expect to hear them. Otherwise, not a bad download. I'm still downloading the rest of the books, so I guess that says something.
More interesting than the first one, but the main character still gets on my nerves. At least I still chuckle when the narrator voices the male leads voice :-)
