I fell in love with Gideon Cross and I found it wonderful to actually get more of a story, rather than all love scenes in this book. Please don't think that I don't love the hot and steam sex scenes...I do, but I also want a story. Reflected in you gave this in the second book. I don't want to compare 50 Shades to this book. I found that I could only handle so many "laters baby" and other ridiculous exclamations in the 50 Shades series. It was a turn off despite the love scenes. I enjoyed the story and am sad that the next installment will not be out until May of 2013.
I would definately recommend this book and the first one "Bared To You" to anyone that enjoyed 50 Shades of Grey. I really think that I could relate more to the characters in this book more so than in 50 Shades Of Grey. Just an all around great book. The characters were very realistic. Very touching. Loved it!
Ava was my favorite character. I felt so bad for her because she loved Gidian so much and he continued to do things that she did not understand.
My favorite scene in the book was the final scene when everything came together.
I did not want to turn the audio off. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next.
I will listen to both of the books again before the 3rd one comes out...Can't wait.
This was a great follow up in this series. There are a couple good twists and turns in this story and we finally learn about Gideon's past. I don't want to say too much because I feel like I would give too much away.
There is a good amount of tension but hang in there because it is worth it and both characters grow a lot by the end. I hope they will give Cary's story a little more time in the last book but I do have a feeling we have not seen the end of the singer.
Great Listen, definitely recommend!!
Yes, very much so. The performance was excellent...Book is easy and enjoyable.
If you liked the first book in this series, this won't be disappointing.
The charactures remind me of other stories...50 shades. It was a uplifting romance novel with a twinge of darkness.
Excellent. Great vocals, great impressionism. Enjoyed Jill. Wouldn't hesitate to get another read by her.
Just enjoyed the whole story line.
It is a romance novel, it is exactly what you would expect. It's a good read.
I enjoyed this one much more than the first. This story developed the characters much more. The authors use of images were wonderful and the story line was believable and I couldn't stop listening.
The emotions I felt--as a reader--following both characters roller coaster of a relationship. You really pull for this couple, despite everything they've gone through.
There were many, but one memorable moment was when Gideon's jealousy over Ava's ex caused him to force the answer out of her. As deep and dark as it was, he had a point to make, and knew only one way to get it out of her; and by-God he did. I think it was the climax of their relationship. The realization of what kind of hold they had on each other.
Just in Bared to You
ABSOLUTELY! I found myself attached to my computer, waiting to hear the reasoning behind Gideon's darkness. I must admit, I was very enticed by the build-up and foreshadowing, only to be disappointed with the ten-minute reasoning, which ended up lacking emotion and feeling.
I felt the first book built up Gideon's past to the point that the reader NEEDED to know why. I thought the second book was going to explain his past in full detail and show how the two of them would get through it. That never happened.
It felt as though the author rushed through the ending, throwing in the suspicious murder, etc. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed in the end, and want a re-write! Or, a third novel delving deeper... I fell in love with Gideon and Ava and WANT MORE! The foreshadowing of many subjects never came to fruition; i.e., them getting married, her ex coming after her, the story behind his brother's weird behavior at the garden party, her roommate (Cary's) future...
Oh My Goodness!
Gideon, because he is so mysterious and likeable.
When Gideon shares his story about abuse.
Can't wait for the 3rd book!!! I'm loving this series! I'm hooked!
Although it takes a little persistence and is an emotional roller coaster by the time I reached the end, I was astonished and in love with Gideon.
I don't believe that I could ever be more interested in a good love story as I am now. I just learned the depths that a person is willing to go to to protect his "angel."
The author is master of her universe and knows how to tell a story, make it interesting and make you care.
I loved the narration and found nothing to complain about.
I can't wait for final installment of Eva and Gideon's story
This story was so AMAZING!!!
I thought she did a good job distinguishing all the characters. I liked the way she did Ava's mom.
It was an emotional roller coaster.
Get this book. This series is amazing.
Mother of 3, grandmother of 6, retired nurse and substance abuse counselor. Thrilled to have the time to read or listen to books again.
gave this book by Sylvia Day only 3 stars due to the ending which in my opinion was so far away from being complete. there were several issues that the the main characters were trying to cope with or get beyond that remained not addressed in the end which left the reader going "what" you've got to be kidding me! not to mention the law officers of new york city making a major crime a non-issue. the sex in this book was beyond the limits of what is believable as well. maybe i should have given it only two stars.
the narrator did a good job however.
