awesome, thought provoking
Probably the best audio book I ever listened to. It can get pretty technical at times, but I believe its a must read for everyone (at any age).
I was interested in this book since I have had a few head injuries and still notice some issues, I'd like to get back to 100% and this book made me feel like I can not only heal completely but grow past it. My Mom has Alzheimer's which also made me very interested in learning all I can.
I found the book was told in a manner that made me really interested in listening and not wanting to turn it off after my run (I listen to audio books while I run). I didn't expect that with this book, although it could be my extreme interest in this topic, I anticipated it being a pretty dry book. When I finished the book, I immediately started it over to catch the parts I may have missed as my mind drifted to my experiences.
Manual for the Brain
That I am not my brain and I need to take charge of my brain; use it as a tool to help me fulfill the goals I want to reach, for a full and happy life.
He gives the words a texture and emotion for a richer experience. I actually felt like I was connecting to the author.
Everyone should read this book to get a better sense of themselves. Learn all about the unconscious brain and how it controls almost everything we do!
I enjoyed the science that was explained in it. That, mixed with the spiritual aspect, really gave the book weight.
No. The lists of everything got to be irritating.
I like the positive approach.
It had to many lists of things to do, one... It got irritating and boring. More real life examples would be better.
Spent too much time running down theories of people with whom they disagree (Richard Dawkins, for example) and trying to convince me that God exists. Would have been a much better book without that. And didn't need it either, would have been perfectly fine without it.
He was a good narrator.
one of my all time favorites
so much information packed into this book. I will have to listen to it several times. a very empowering read with new updates on old diseases and information on improving your own life experience. I wish everyone would read this book!!
I listened to his book a few months ago. Nothing about it sticks in my brain except that there was nothing to it that I had not heard before. Which may be good because I don't recall any glaring errors either. Still hours spent listening to something that was neither memorable nor contributed to my knowledge or well being was not a good use of my time.
That said. If you are a geek and tend to know a lot about spiritual well being, neuroscience, plasticity, integrative medicine, and such, this is not the book for you. If, however, this sounds like something that you might be interested in but don't know where to start, this might be a good intro.

Chopra's wonderful presentations together with neuroscience matters, quite useful and enjoyable.
Ageless Body, Timeless Mind: The Quantum Alternative to Growing Old
Very natural, easy to follow...
The book was boring because there was nothing new. It is simplistic and general in scope. I agree with the majority of it but I was looking for some Ah Ha moments but there were none. It was common sense but unfortunately people do not always follow common sense.
Like many books it could easily be written in 10 pages.
