Me? ....... Capable of many moods, and enjoying a vast range of literature. Incapable of uploading a picture and realized none of the Avatars are ......appropriate. That pretty much "tells" it all.
Enjoyable quick listen. Thanks Audible! I love the fact that I can get so many previews and an idea of the authors by making a through search of FREE and cheap books on the search engine. Many times I only want something quick to listen to and Audible has the answer for a doctor visit, pre sleeping, folding the wash, etc. you can almost always learn something. Again, this was a short enjoyable listen.
Yes - Jon Ronson's presentation really augmented the personal stories.
Liked the story about his son asking him if there is a word worse than f----.
The stories are personal so his presentation is a bonus - that special British self-deprecating humour
easy to relate to- you want every story to turn into a long story
when he realized all his Christmas cards were from businesses
Ronson offers four charming and amusing tales from his domestic life. Each read by the author himself. The brevity is such that there is little more to say, Otherwise you may spend longer reading this nebulous appraisal than enjoying Jon's endearingly delivered anecdotes.
I consider audio the BEST, it frees me up to do other things while I listen. Some tasks are so mind numbing...an audio helps make the task go easier.
The father telling his son about the "worse" word!!!
I don't know
Well read X
Haven't read print version, but think the author's delivery definitely complemented the material. Reminded me of David Sedaris, without the underlying tone of depression. It's possible that in the printed version the humor may seem less subtle.
Oooh, hard to say. Maybe the moment when the author realizes how his encounter with a mocking 14-year-old girl might have been misinterpreted.
The one mentioned above. But also, the sequence of his increasing need to be recognized/validated by his new neighbor.
The entire selection was, in a way, moving, because it contained a series of depictions of interpersonal interactions that were just so true to life.
Loved it. One of my favorite listens in a long time. I'll be checking into more of this author's works.
I'm a big fan of SF/F/Horror, and all things in between and out.
I haven't read a ton of Ronson's other stuff, but I've heard him several times on This American Life, and have been intrigued by his books. This free download only solidifies what I already suspected: I really need to grab "Them," "The Psychopath Test," or maybe even Ronson's latest.
These very short stories are all very funny, and while they're more self-focused that what I tend to identify with Ronson, that only adds to the sharp hilarity. They're not incredibly deep or life-changing, but they're well worth listening to, especially if you're looking for a laugh.
It's a great way to spend half an hour, and the price is hard to beat.
Foul language and inappropriate subject material involving children.
Won't be buying any of his recordings
Something without the F-word and like this book. Or perhaps not a book talking about sexual interactions with children.
It is purely filthy material. Those that read this should be ashamed of themselves.
Everything. It is disgusting.
The Darth Bane trilogy finishes with the maximum peak and a brilliant end to a long and well told story.
All the necessary ingredients are included and you cannot get disappointed . The Sith get at last their complete picture and the dark side turns to you. Reject it but not the novel which is the second best of them all....
Joakim - the 66th installment that I have read of this galactic epic.
