Yes. There are several short stories in this collection, and each one takes you deeper into various characters.
I really enjoyed finding out how Trent and Janx snatched Lucy. It was a wonderful insight into Trent's character. I also loved Janx teaching Jamoke how to be a runner. His thoughts about his failings with Jax and his interactions with Madalina brought tears to my eyes.
Marguerite Gavin does a wonderful job with the narration. Most of the characters have very distinct voices, and she adds just enough wit and sarcasm to bring the characters to life.
Really. After faithfully following this series for about 4 or 5 books I've finally given up. There is one interesting story in this one, about Al, and that's it. Marguerite Gavin is brilliant as always, as for the story....
I love audible helps me through my work day.
Most of the back-stories I knew, but good detail. I love the story of how Trent got Lucy, totally help me like his character, never seen what Rachel seen in him until he became a father.
Now this is more like the Kim Harrison I like. More like a 4 1/2 star book. The fill in the gap story's of Harrison's hollows series are 5 star and very enjoyable.
this collection of stories are worth every Penney you pay for book.
Wouldn't mind seeing a couple of the last stories in the book become their own series just to see how they develop.
If you like the hollows books this is defiantly one to read.
Fills in the blanks in hollow series plus a couple totally new/different stories.
She does great job. The pixies.
Very enjoyable. Some of the pixie comments will make you laugh
If you like the hollow series. Buy this book.
I have read all the Hollows series, they are one of my favorite series. But I just couldn't get into this book. I will look forward to the next book to come out.
Great collection of novellas and / but not all focused on Rachel! Ms. Harrison has allowed us to tag along with her as she explores other characters and we discover the 'woods' extend farther than the Hollows. Really enjoyed the change of pace! And, as always, Ms. Gavin brought each character off the page and gave a superb performance!
I love the audio edition of this book because I never have much time to actually read these days, but I spend hours driving. With the audio book, I get the stories I love and it's almost better than reading, because Marguerite Gavin's interpretation of Kim Harrison's work is so entertaining!
I loved getting the peeks into Ivy, Trent and Jenk's lives apart from Rachel's. I also loved learning about Rachel's first encounter with Pierce.
Until this book, I had only heard Marguerite Gavin perform Kim Harrison's "Hollows" stories. But this book had some other Kim Harrison stories and I was amazed as Gavin's ability to make those characters sound so completely different from the Hollows characters. She's quickly become one of my favorite audio book performers.
I definitely would!
Jenkins, he can fly
We got a look at most of the characters from the authors point of view and learned where the ideas for the characters came from.
Yes it was worth the listening time. want to know what happens next.
As always, waiting for the next book.
I am a fifty-eight year old male who likes adventure, fantasy, science fiction and mysteries. Some of my favorite authors are J. R.R. Tolkin, Robert Hienlin, J. K. Rowling, Robert Jordan, Brandon Sanderson, Terry Brooks, Kim Harrison, Stephen King, and Faith Hunter just to name a few. I listen to my books while driving, riding my bike, and on my breaks at work.
It was really interesting to read what all Kim puts into a story before it goes to print. I would listen again just to absorb the characters and the influence on other works.
