The book Dark Storm was exceptional!!! It hunbles me what a writter Christine Feehan really is!!!
I've been reading romance novels for more than 30 years.
Very different setting and story line.
That the Heroin was able to used her many gifts to support the Hero.
Anytime the dragon was there to add his support and the three (man, women, and beast) started to consider each other a family.
When they found the flowers and used them in a love seen. When Gary and Noble got the flowers and was able to take them back with them. It made me laugh when they found the flowers.
I will be listen to this story again as soon as I finish the next three.
The two narrator experience helps contrast the female and male main characters, and makes it more real-to-life and appealing.
When Riley and Dax consummate their relationship. It was more of a courtship process than the typical swoop-you-up, "you're mine", and bang! mating of other Carpathian stories.
Sadly, not so much. The Penguin Audio producers had each narrator read the total line when the character's Point of View was in play, resulting in a woman reading a deep male's voice, and vice versa. I wish they would have kept to the Brilliance Audio's production technique of having one or the other narrator during character POV, but when dialog appears, actually have the man or woman read the lines.
No, I usually do not. I like to listen while on commutes or doing household chores. That doesn't lend itself to listening for very long stretches.
I would have liked the production MUCH better had the Penguin Audio producers taken my suggestion for the narration. PLEASE pass that on for the next recording! Why bother having a two person narration when the wrong sex person reads dialog? Also, please verify with the author about Foreign Word Pronunciation: some of the words didn't seem quite correct.

Is this storyline has just become very repetitive.
She's lost the thrill in the mystery and her writing.
All this scene our continued from one book to another it's time to end the series
Only if they want incredibly detailed sexual episodes.
I have always liked Christine Feehan. I haven't listened to one in a long time - so that may be the issue. I loved how the story started and was really thrilled till about 1/3 of the way through. Then as the 2 main characters become closer and closer (physically and emotionally), the steam just keeps rising. If you enjoy the details of the sexual exploits, you will love this one. If you like her stories, it is hard to get through the exploits this time to get to the story.
I am trilled that Christine Feehan has introduced a new story line, touching on some old ones, with some new characters in this book. I can't wait to see where she goes next and hope that she expands this line in future books.
No. The author reused words and phrases too many times. The narrators tried, but it was too painful to listen.
Christine Feehan has been a fav for years. After reading and rereading all the previous "Dark" series, I was bitterly disappointed in this offering.
I just read a couple of books from this series while on vacation. Aside from the repeated backdrop of violence toward women, I enjoyed them. This one was a different story. Doubt, insecurity, & angst take up at least 1/3 of the story. I found myself saying "just get on with it' often & eventually having to fast forward because I couldn't take it anymore. I lost interest way before the end. Thus I am returning it. There are over 20 books in the series. I enjoy different characters being developed throughout a series. However, I think the author has drawn this well dry.
I find it hard to believe that others gave this one a good rating. I chose this book over others in the series because of that. Yecch.
Maybe older ones from this series - nothing newer.
It is not among the best of the Carpathian books. The story is only a so so and really doesn't flow like the other books.
No I wouldn't. The duel narrations is annoying . The story is longer than it really needs to be and is not all together that interesting.
I hope I don't have to.
Shorter story. Linking it a little closer to the Carpathians. And having someone else narrate the story.
Not worth the credit
